Hogsmeade Valentine's Spectacular! Friday, the 14th
Now, Holly was definitely not someone who enjoyed the frills and lace of Valentine's Day. Usually, she hated it, it was in the top five list of things she hated, but this year? She felt like celebrating. It had been a damn good year, and Holly was taking every opportunity to showcase the good bloody mood she'd been in. Sure, there had been its blips (McCormack owed her quite some bit), and each moment made her appreciate each and every day.

But that was the sort of sappy stuff she and her husband didn't say, so that was why she had insisted that their visit to Hogsmeade tonight was to crack jokes and judge the couples that took this holiday way too seriously.

It was turning out to not be as horrendous as one may have thought. Hogsmeade was a village on display, each store front lit up with lights, the street lamps giving off sprays of glitter and confetti as couples walked past. The different food places had set up heating spells around outside tables and counters, the aroma completely filling her every sense. The lake had turned into a beautiful ice rink, while a magical ferris wheel lit up the sky. The village had always amazed her, knowing that it was the only place in the country wizards and witches could be completely at ease with their magic outside of Hogwarts.

"Good thing they didn't let the kiddies out," Holly said, eyes catching sight of the castle in the distance. "They'd ruin the romance."

- Hogsmeade is open to all! The village streets are sort of like a Valentine's fair, hosted by Madam Puddifoot's (so you know there's some cheesy stuff).
- For some ADDED FUN, a little trickster has laced the chocolate supply with a truth serum. The amount of chocolate your character ingests, the more truthful/the longer they are under its spell. Soo...that could lead to some fun, y/y? >:D
- ALSO, for players on non British Isles teams, this is the last weekend to be home because practice for the WC starts after Valentine's Day! So get those feels out because you're shipping out!

She hadn’t really spoken to him since that night on his porch, and even then the conversation had been spilling her heart and he not---Therese felt herself heat up, not from embarrassment, though the feeling was similar. She felt foolish for her actions, not because she’d taken the chance, but because it had been shut down so completely. How could she feel, how could she still feel so strongly about him and Michal didn’t--

Though, she wasn’t quite sure if that was true. Therese had forced herself to not obsess over their short and drunken encounter at the Arrow’s victory party, because---he had been excessively drunk and his teammate had excused his behavior but---he’d said things to her that made sense, that made her think---but, he obviously hadn’t remembered, or he hadn’t found it important enough to bring up again.

And, there was that all too familiar sting.

“Well,” she managed, beginning to feel terrible all over again. Her bags shifted on her shoulder and she finally managed to pull her gaze up from the pavement. Therese did however manage a smile, because her next words rang true, “Good luck in New York. I’m glad you got cleared to play; looks like Howell takes good care of you.”

That should be that, she should continue on her way. But, as usual when it came to Michal Conway, she hesitated, feigning that she had to check her packages once more before taking her first steps away.

Michal inclined his chin, and his brows rose slightly at the mention of Howell. He couldn't say why Therese thought... technically, if he was going to be honest, Howell was the direction reason behind his injury in the first place, so in reality he should be.... Michal quickly shook those thoughts. Perhaps she was simply referring to the widely considered notion that Howell Williams was one of the few non-destructive influences in his life. For the most part. Aside from the whole dehabilitating injury thing.

"I'm leaving for Poland on Monday," he eventually responded, unsure how else to respond to her well wishes. And then, after two weeks, off to America... Michal couldn't say how he felt about traveling to the States. Would it be much different than Eurocup? Internally, he cringed at the next logical thought. He had still been with Therese at Eurocup, and at the time she had been unknowingly...

"I have to get going," Michal stated suddenly, his back straightening significantly. Docking his head down toward the ground, his hands waved vaguely. "My sister.... crying everywhere today about some--- wizard, or something. Lack there of, or--- I don't know, there's been so much waterworks in the past four hours..." he trailed off, genuinely unclear about the whole matter. All he knew was that if he didn't return home soon with Liddie's "favorite meal" dire consequences he would soon face.

"Have a good, er--- night." His face contorted slightly, realizing his uncomfortable slip as the words fell out of his mouth. He had just wishes his ex-girlfriend a great Valentine's night. Superb.

Why was this so--painful? In the physical sense, in the heartbroken sense, in the how ridiculously awkward sense. Therese could not stand how completely opposite they were from a year ago. A year ago she had felt as if she was really on the mend, that she could fall in love again and trust again, and it felt like...the moment she'd allowed herself to think such things, fate, destiny, whatever it was, decided to pull the rug out from under her. What a fool she had been to think that she was going to be allowed bliss and happiness.

But even after the past year of confusion, rash decisions, and trying to find her footing again, she could still find some sort of...Therese wasn't sure what to call it. Compassion? That might be too strong of a word, but she did still care about Michal's livelihood. His accident had her abusing her healer privileges to keep a distant eye on his progress. She--still cared, and that was why it continued to hurt so bad, this unsettled state her mind was in a year's past. As she watched him avoid her gaze and end what didn't have to be a strained conversation, she felt a rush of heat come over her.

Her bags dropped to the ground as she took a few quick steps to cut him off from reaching the door. Therese grabbed the handle to keep it shut, her eyes sharp with a sense of purpose. She needed answers.

"Do you hate me?" she asked quickly, before she lost her nerve. Therese had put her finger on it; she couldn't accept being blamed for it all. It had been her body that had rejected the pregnancy, but who knew if she'd done anything to cause it. She felt as if she'd always have the tremendous guilt of not having been aware she was pregnant resting on her shoulders, maybe if she'd seen a healer earlier, or not had those drinks at New Year's...but even in her darkest moments she was still able to fight back and convince herself, for a while, that it hadn't been her fault. She shouldn't take the blame.

But did Michal think she should?

She forced herself not to drop her gaze. "Because---I feel like...I feel like you do, and that kills me," she admitted. "I don't want you to hate me, not after everything we were."

Michal's eyes widened. Surprised, and perhaps a bit alarmed, he stared at Therese in stunned silence. He could not decide which shocked him more; her physical act of barring him from retreating any further, or her words. Why was she doing this? Here, now? Had they not....?

After a few moments, Michal was able to grapple some bearings, and his astonished stupor lessened to make room for an actual response. Something from within pulled at him, and quickly he realized it was exasperation. He restrained from raising his hand to press his palm to his face and squeeze the bridge of his nose. All he wanted to do was, discreetly, go out, pick up dinner, and return home to his weeping sister, was that really too much to ask? Valentine's day was a holiday he abhorred enough, but to have this thrust upon him so unceremoniously?

"Let go of the door, Therese," Michal warned, and for the first time, in feeling quite irritated with her, glared down at her with absolute resolve. The conversation had been over, he produced the necessary niceties that went along with his responsibility for tearing their relationship apart, why was she insisting on more from him? He quickly felt like his well of guilt concerning Therese Bonaccord was drying up.

"I'm not doing this with you here."
