Party Thread, get those bingo boxes!

By the time the party was in full swing, there may have been a bit more than 'just the important' people milling about Thomas' backyard. Kendall was also just drunk enough to not care about the wrath that he was potentially incurring from his best friend. It had started out small enough, when he was still sober and cooking food. He had been grinning all afternoon and now that the sun was setting, even more people were showing up. There was a quidditch game going on, people swimming, dancing. He couldn't think of a better way to be spending his birthday.

Pulling himself out of the lake, he grabbed his towel to dry of his face as he made his way over to get another drink. He scanned the crowd quite pleased with himself, he couldn't remember ever throwing a party that quite like this. And last minute as well. His had a great team, great friends, a great thing going on with Anya. He couldn't remember the last time he was this happy.

Taking a drag of his drink, Kendall settled himself on the grass laying back to stare at the colors that were starting to paint the sky. He was looking forward to Charlie's fireworks, the phrase 'whatever you want, have fun' probably shouldn't have been used, but it was guaranteed to have spectacular results. It didn't take long before a there was shadow cast over him. "Oh hey, fancy seeing you here," he grinned as he tilted his head back to see who had joined him. Propping himself up on his elbows he nodded to empty stretch of grass next to him. "Enjoying the party?"

(ooc: Open to pretty much everyone? Lol if you can connect your character to Kendall by 3 people then its legit. Kendall's tag is up for grabs. :* Have fun get, dem posts.)

Liddie Lynch!

Charlie lit a flame at the tip of his wand and expertly ignited the fuse of the fireworks lining the end of the pier. With a shout, he jumped and ran back a decent distance before dropping down with a flourish beside Liddie. He rolled onto his back and put his arms up as the fireworks shot up into the air, "Tada!"

He hollered and whooped at the display, happy for a reason to set off the boxes of extra fireworks he'd stored away from St. Patrick's Day. And World Cup celebrations. And his birthday. Perhaps he should start a monthly fireworks show because the sight of them bright and colorful in the sky brought him a pure joy and excitement. Charlie was pretty sure he could spend the night staring up at the sky while the various explosions and designs swirled and twirled. Of course wizard fireworks were more creative than muggle, each rocket lasted a good five minutes; why waste the time and creativity on something that disappeared in a literal flash.

Charlie dug his elbows into the ground to push himself up and he looked over at Liddie for a moment before turning his eyes back up to the sky, he didn't want to miss a moment.

"Broadmoor's lucky I'm such a good friend," he said, tilting his head as far back as he could to keep an eye on a fizzing whizbee of a firework as it streaked through the sky. "I only set these off on special occasions--look at that one!"

Charlie Spinnet!

She had to admit, they were excellent fireworks. Excellent enough, even, to distract her from the fact that after a significant amount of time into the show, neither she nor Charlie had inched even a hair's breather closer to each other. How had that happened? Liddie immediately wrote such actions off as Charlie's gentleman like stature and her suddenly remembering she couldn't remember the last time she had seen such a brilliant display. It wasn't the worst thing, she decided as she subtly smoothed out her hair, to enjoy other things in life that did not include the vicinity of immediate snogging.

Unhooking her feet, Liddie looked down her front to check one last time for anything unsightly. One last look at a particularly wild orange one, she turned so that the fireworks display was behind her. Shifting to rest on her hip, Liddie rolled slightly to place the rest of her weight on her palms pressing into the ground. Placing them as close as she could under his side, she looked down at Charlie.

"You are a very good friend," she agreed in a playful tone. Hovering over him, she tilted her hair so that it wouldn't completely cover his face. Sparing the moment between breaths, Liddie did manage to pull all her hair over her right shoulder and behind her ear. Smiling poised above him, she waited for another loud pop before speaking again.

"But are you as good a kisser as you are a friend? I wonder..." Her smile went wide, for she already knew that answer. But there was always the time for a bit of teasing. For a bit of encouragement, she leaned in closer to Charlie and raised her eyebrows high to make a funny face that she supposed to be vaguely described as comical pondering.

If there was anything that could pull his eyes away from his marvelous fireworks display it was Liddie's distractingly pretty face. Charlie tried very hard to keep his expression serious, to reflect that he was indeed pondering her question, but he cracked a grin. He surprisingly did have a handful of friends who could give him a solid answer, but he didn't feel like bothering Mira or Octavius right now. There were more important things at hand.

"Well, friend," he said, lifting his chin to move just that much closer to Liddie's lips. His eyes went in and out of focus as he tried to keep contact with hers. "Are you willing to investigate?"

Charlie could confirm without much doubt that he and Liddie had rather good snogging sessions. Not only did they snog well, which was, you know, great, but he had loads of fun with her too. There wasn't any sort of struggle for conversation or a need to filter his words or excitement. But then there were twinges of guilt that erupted when he was feeling too happy with Liddie. A few months ago Charlie had been determined on the fact that he and Penny were meant to be together, but that all collapsed while he wasn't looking. Did he really have a grasp on what made him happy in life?

Her silly face and the smile that was hurting his cheeks pushed those thoughts away and Charlie gave in to her teasing. He kissed her heartily, managing to keep upright with one elbow dug into the ground while his other hand took hold of the side of her face. Kissing Liddie Lynch set off real and not so real fireworks, it seemed.

Her heart skipped, and it was with an excited relief that her lips met his. They had not snogged once the whole day, for reasons of social etiquette and otherwise preoccupation, so Charlie Spinnet's soft and chapped lips were a welcome change in the night. It was nice, she had not had pleasant, light day like this in a very long time.

Everyday should be like this. Experiences like this was why she she loved summer the best; fireworks, ice cream, lakes, parties, and summer romances. Everyone needed to have days like this.

Wanting to get closer to him (and perhaps her palms had begun to ache from all the added weight), Liddie moved to hover more atop him. Smiling into his mouth, she pulled away just enough to keep their lips touching for a bit of teasing. And talking, of course.

"What amity," she sighed contently, and finally rested her opposite hand on the other side of his body. As much as it would be more convenient, Liddie couldn't quite convince herself to completely straddle the wizard beneath her. Instead, she kept her hips firmly on the ground and simply stretched as much as her arms and back would let her.

Liddie waited for the boom and fizzle of a couple fireworks before speaking again. She couldn't help feeing the lull, she enjoyed staring down and smiling at his smiling face too much.

"Does this make us friends now, Charlie Spinnet?" she asked in an amused manner, the brightest hint of a glint in her eye. Letting out a soft laugh, Liddie then bent her elbows to casually trail her lips away from his and along his jaw.

It was a testament to her lips that Charlie's eyes shut in pleasure while there were fantastic fireworks still going off in the sky. Liddie was an expert at the slow and steady, while at the same time managing to whirl his mind about. It was fun, she was fun. Charlie had been dealt the harsh blow of reality and heartbreak over the winter; it was refreshing to finally come to expect and anticipate sunny days.

"Hmm," he hummed, not bothering to be subtle about his slight stretch of the neck to provide more skin for her kisses. "I reckon I don't mind your company."

He'd done a pretty good job at sitting still, which was another feat in itself. Charlie grinned and opened his eyes before putting his arms swiftly around her waist as he laid back into the grass. He kissed her, still finding her more enchanting than the show in the sky.

"And what about me? Am I your friend, Liddie Lynch?" Charlie asked, unable to keep a straight face with his question. He scrunched his nose with his smile.

Liddie promptly popped up straight, elbows locking so that her arms kept him from her as much as possible. It truly wasn't that great of a length, but significant enough considering how close they had previously been.

"A friend?" she asked incredulous, looking down at Charlie with wide eyes. Her hands had moved again, positioned up near the top of his shoulders. The slyest of smiles appeared on her lips, and her head docked down enough that her hair swung in the empty space between them. After watching the light from the sky play on his face for a couple of moments, she eventually eased back down toward him.

"Merlin no!" Liddie stated, trailing her lips from his cheek down to the corner of his mouth. "I'd never snog my friends like this."

She let the thought linger in the air for a moment and when she couldn't hold the air of faux seriousness any longer, Liddie let out a peal of laughter. Closing her eyes, she finally collapsed onto Charlie completely, covering the rest of her laughs within the crook of his next. He smelled like summer, and in that moment, it couldn't have been more enticing.
