She pulled the invisibility cloak tighter over herself, taking in deep, steady breaths. The streets of Godric's Hollow were calm, still, not a person in sight as it was rather late; in the houses of the muggles in the area, you could see the telly flickering through the windows. Alice couldn't see the Order members hidden about the town, but she had a rough idea of where they were all located. It was strange to have the upper hand for once, but she knew it wouldn't last for long, no matter how pessimistic a thought. The tip to Dumbledore had arrived with a good amount of time before nightfall and had given the Order a lot of time to prepare for whatever was going to strike the small village.

James had been adamant about being one of those to go and find Sirius, but it was obvious that with his past relations with the death eaters that they couldn't risk it. Alice knew that Frank was eager to help as well, but it was finally decided on who was to stay and who was to go, and things would just have to deal.

Alice slowly made her way through a garden of one of the small cottages. She couldn't help but peer through the kitchen window, eyes softening at the sight of a daughter helping her mother was the dishes. These people were completely innocent; why had Voldemort decided to attack this village? Surely it couldn't be because wizards and muggles were living together, Hogsmeade was the only all-wizarding village and he'd already attacked there twice.

Quickly, she put up a ward on the houses' windows, feeling a guilt rise up in her at not being able to warn the family about what was to happen. She saw the flare of a spell before she heard it erupt, and Alice gripped her wand tighter, sending one last look toward the window before heading out into the starts of the fray.

[ooc] consensus says that we'll do both the thread and the ooc post; try and get your characters in, but if you can't, head back to the ooc post and relate what you'd like to happen there. Other people (with Order members/death eaters/aurors/etc) can tag to those comments with ideas they have, and so on. Have fun!

He was not in the fucking mood.

James was antsy, which wasn't good for going into a battle, but his adrenaline was pumping far too hard to stand still. Back and forth he paced, in front of the familiar pizzeria in the center of town square, just---waiting. Waiting. While Remus and Sturgis headed into the fucking Lestranges and hopefully released Sirius. They hadn't been able to step a fucking toe onto the property, and today they get exact details how to bloody break in and out? No, it didn't make any sense to James, but Dumbledore seemed to think it did, and he trusted this anonymous tipper.

If he was here, dealing with fucking death eaters, and they didn't get Sirius out---James was going to have to bring up some bloody issues with his former headmaster.

The shouts and screams knocked him out of his mental rant, and James charged forward, his own invisibility cloak secured around him (no way was he going to trade his trusty cloak for a new one, he'd never gotten caught once while under it). The death eaters started trickling out into the square, and James waste no time in dodging behind the fountain, and shooting around its curves a strong, "Relashio!"

Amycus had kept near the back of the group, keeping his eyes open for any sign of trouble, and for any one who could pose as a potential threat or could just pose as a pain in the ass. He also tried to keep an eye on Alecto as much as possible, but he knew that she could handle herself...but he still hated parting ways with her, especially on missions like these. They were basically going out to slaughter anything that wasn't wearing a mask who was breathing. Hell, some of the other Death Eaters probably used corpses to thier advantage.

Slow steps brought him into the square, wand held firmly in between his fingers. His eyes squinted slightly to see better in the dark. He probably could have lit up the tip of his wand, but that would just draw more attention to himself. And he really didn't need that...

Besides, someone already seemed to have their attention on him, since it wasn't long before he saw sparks shooting towards him out of the corner of his eye. He jumped to the side and pointed at the approaching spell. "Aguamenti!" the sparks were extinguished, but Amycus didn't drop his wand. He just held onto it tighter as he looked around frantically for where the hell they had come from. His breathing was a little bit heavier, but he remained calm, pointing his wand in the general direction from where the spell had come, once again taking slow steps closer to the fountain, trying to catch sight of any movement at all. "Protego." He muttered the spell beneath his breath, still trying to locate where that spell had come from.

Who the fuck...?

James had the fleeting thought that he should not feel such a surge of power at the fact that his opponent could not see him, but he grinned somewhat maliciously anyway, and came around the fountain, so now he was behind the death eater. Playing dirty was never--oh, who was he trying to fool? James Potter, king of pranks and mischief, this was where he bloody belonged. Especially since they'd decided to attack his home. James was sure his father would be out here, hurling spells and acting as if he's still on the auror force, and James could hardly blame him.

He shot a hurling hex at the death eater's back, followed by a quick volley of just--painful stinging spells. No, James knew that the death eaters showed no mercy, and he was past trying to fight honorably. He and his family and his friends had been hurt too much by these bastards to give them any sort of chance of escap.

It was hard not to shout out and taunt, but James knew that speaking when he didn't have to would give up his position. So, he had to keep moving, he couldn't stay in one spot, and to play a trick, he aimed at the water on the opposite side of the fountain, splashing it around.

This wan’t amusing at all. Not being able to see who was kicking his ass was not something that Amycus necessarily enjoyed. The fact that whoever was hitting him was experienced didn’t help, since the spells and hexes that crashed into his body weren’t sent out by a novice wizard. No, whoever was holding that wand knew what they were doing.

He crashed into the ground, feeling the first spell hit him right in the center of his back, now on his hands and knees as he tried to hold himself back from yelling out because of the pain.

Once the spells wore off, he gripped tightly onto his wand and turned around, breathing heavily as he searched for his attacker. The splashing in the fountain drew his attention, and while he normally might have been in the frame of mind to think that it was just a diversion, he was pissed off and let his anger get to him, sending off a slew of spells in that direction before aiming them at the other side, hoping to at least his something. This one sided battle wasn’t working to his favor, and that just didn’t sit right with Amycus. Things had to change.
