Alecto
“Fuck…”

This was the first and only word that escaped from Amycus’ mouth as he apparated back to the apartment he shared with Alecto above her apothecary. He immediately leaned his back against his dresser that was off to the side, carefully removing his mask and his robes, just getting back from Godric’s Hollow. He was certain that he was bleeding in several places, since he could feel the moisture against the cloth of his shirt as he took off the extra fabric. He left everything crumpled in a pile next to the piece of furniture he had been leaning against, pushing himself into a standing position as he raised a hand to his forehead, feeling the thick substance that had dripped down the side of his face. His jaw clenched as he looked at the crimson liquid on his fingertips before he looked towards the door, his stomach churning as he did so.

But it wasn’t because of the blood. No, he had seen his fair share of blood, and he had caused quite a bit of it to spill, but he was uneasy because his sister hadn’t returned yet. The youngest Carrow could only imagine what the hell kind of fight his sister had gotten into, since he himself had spent half the night fighting off someone he couldn’t even see. He had hit whoever it was quite a few times, blindly aiming spells in the man’s general direction, but Amycus had admittedly taken most of the blows…and his entire body was aching because of it.

He limped slightly as he paced from side to side, holding onto a gash that was in his side before he sat down on the bed, wincing as he did so. Shutting his eyes, he steadied his breathing, currently hunched over with a hand gripping at his side, knowing that he was just going to drive himself nuts if he kept watching the door every five seconds. He had a feeling she was going to apparate and scare the living shit out of him by just appearing in the middle of the room, but as long as she came back, he didn’t care.

Or, well, he’d care, but at least he’d know she was still alive.

She made a small sound meant to be an affirmative answer to his question, but didn't move just yet. She lamented the fact that he had pulled away what seemed like so quickly, and felt a little better just to keep staring at him. Not to mention, of course, that her current wounds weren't exactly going to love her for rushing to get up.

Finally, however, Alecto did reach out a hand to the coffee table, grasping the edge tightly as she forced herself through gritted teeth to raise to her feet. It was a shaky process and her hand needed to move to a wall in order to help her regain her balance, but she managed--it was a lot, as far as she was concerned. "Come on, there's--potions in the kitchen," she told Amycus, and reached her free hand out to him. She knew that he could stand because he had already done so, but he couldn't be getting much better with those wounds on him, and this was for her too. It would have to be a team effort to get the both of them to their destination, even if it was only about ten meters away. As she looked across that distance, Alecto reckoned that was going to be the longest ten meters of her life.

He nodded, to let her know he understood, but even the slight movement of his head to make the motion, made it feel like the entire room was spinning. But, he pushed through it. Watching her rise to her feet, he wanted to extend an arm to help her, but it took most of his energy just to get himself to a standing position. He leaned his shoulder against the wall, flexing the fingers of the hand that wasn’t pressed to his side before he reached out to grab her hand. His grip was secure, but it wasn’t tight, since he didn’t have the strength to squeeze much tighter, and he didn’t want to hurt her.

They both paused before they began to walk, or limp to the kitchen. There was a time when he allowed her to lean on him for support, even though the entire time he was trying not to fall over as well. They moved slowly, and carefully, until they finally reached their destination. It took only a few minutes, but it felt like hours. Amycus couldn’t even continue to try and stand up straight, and basically let his shoulder crash into the nearest wall, still holding onto his sister’s hand as he caught his breath. You would have thought the boy ran a mile, but no. He was exhausted because he moved from one room to the other. He tilted his head and rested his head against the wall, his features pale and drained. It wasn’t like she was perky and doing cartwheels either, though. No, they were both miserable, and bloody, and bruised, and tired. He just wanted some comfort, he just wanted to take something that would make him a little bit numb to the pain.

“What d-…do you need me to do?” He mumbled the words, the side of his forehead still against the wall, clearing his throat before he opened his eyes to look down at her before he moved his hand away from his side, seeing that his hand was now drenched with his own blood. He sighed before he put pressure on the wound again, wincing as he did so. He just needed to stop the bleeding for a while. That was really the injury that was making him so weak, because it was so deep. Not that other things weren’t helping with that, but once he got that taken care of, everything else should be uphill from there.

Walking was just about the most painful thing that she had ever experienced. Breathing was pretty bad too, of course, and so when you tried to put the two together--stumbling across the flat while panting because you just couldn't seem to get your breath back--it was absolutely excruciating. Swear on Merlin's name, if Alecto ever found out who the two were that had done this to them, she was going to go and wring their necks. Cowardly sons of bitches, hiding under invisibility--it had to be an invisibility charm or spell or something, even if she was rather sure none of those things existed. She had no respect for someone who couldn't face their own opponent, hell she even hated the fucking masks that Voldemort made them wear because it felt like she wasn't showing any pride, hiding under a stupid guise.

Alecto felt terrible leaning on Amycus when he was so clearly having such a difficult time keeping himself up, but several times along the way she felt like there was no way that she was going to make it all the way into the kitchen if she didn't have someone helping to hold her up. She knew she was losing blood, could feel it in her head, but not from where. Her body felt agonizing pain all over, all blended in, and knew she wouldn't be able to assess where the damage was until she could look for herself. Fuck, whatever it was, and whatever Amycus' wounds were--she hoped she could fix them with her potions, or else they were going to be in huge trouble. There was no way that they could go to St. Mungo's without looking suspicious.

"In the top cabinet--" she muttered, falling into a chair. She would have just taken out her wand and summoned the things herself if she thought it would actually work. "Red and green and yellow bottles--and the bandages in the lower drawer."

He heard what she had said, and he had heard the chair move, letting him know she had sat down, but he didn’t move right away. He just nodded his head and shifted against the wall. It wasn’t that he couldn’t make it to the cabinet, but he knew for a fact that it was going to hurt like a bitch, reaching up to grab everything. His eyes focused on his destination, his vision a bit blurred as he did so, taking a few more seconds to prepare himself before he pushed off of the wall and stepped towards the cabinet. He stalled before he raised his free hand, feeling other cuts pull open as he reached for the potions, his fingers shaking as he pulled down as many bottles as he could. They were placed down on the table next to Alecto, followed by the bandages when he had managed to turn around and grab those as well.

Once everything was laid out, he stepped towards the table and leaned against it as he pulled a chair closer to him. It felt so heavy, like it weighed 10 times more than it usually did, as he positioned it so he was sitting in front of Alecto, collapsing into the chair as she had just a few moments ago. He looked to the potions, seeing that there were about 3 of each for both of them. “Anyth-…anything else?” He was certain that if there was anything else he needed to grab, he wouldn’t be able to do it…but for her, he’d try.
