Mahtin!
They'd given him permission to take the kid home.

He was going to be sick.

Noah was nearly doubled over, head between his legs as he tried not to puke. They hadn't sent the baby (The Baby---he needed a name, hell--) to the orphanage yet, and he didn't know the details, just that...that there would be papers, and since he was abandoned it...God, he had no idea, but he was going to take him home.

Having absolutely no solid reason why he was doing this, why he had decided he was ready to be a father, Noah let out a groan and sat back, dropping his head against the wall of the waiting room. His brother had made due with his promise and had joined him in the hospital, and Noah supposed he should be thanking him, but the reason he'd asked Martin over was to calm his nerves, and it didn't seem to be working.

"They're gonna say I have to give him back---" he let out in a worried tone, slouching low in the seat. "They're gonna--think I'm some----nutjob."

Noah winced automatically, knowing that an agreeing insult would be slung. Right now, he was not in the right state of mind to compete intellectually with Martin...with was terrifying in and of itself.

You're a daddy!

Martin's words knocked Noah into a stupor, and when he stood to address the healer all he could do was nod and 'mhmm' and laugh at what was supposedly a joke---he didn't hear a bloody word. Something about papers, there'd be a ministry official coming next week to check in on things, and suddenly she was putting Terry (Terry!) in his arms and Noah let out a very nervous string of laughter.

Oh, fuck.

He looked up at Martin, then back at Terry (Terry!), and then back up at his brother, "You'll be his godfather, won't you?"

Noah hadn't actually thought about it before this moment, but seeing as Terry (TERRY!) didn't have a mother, and had him for a father now, well---he should at least give him a godfather, right? And there was no one better than Martin, "He could play quidditch, I think."

Martin slowly rose up behind his brother, sort of staring down at the little loaf resting in the healer's arms. That was his nephew now! Bizarre. Martin was paying even less attention to the healer than Noah was, completely preoccupied with the kid instead. When he was finally handed off to Noah, Martin couldn't help but smirk at the way his younger brother was giggling. It was rare to see Noah without his composure, and it was sort of funny.

His next question seemed to surprise him though, judging by the way his eyebrows dissapeared up under the shaggy mop of his curls. "Woah, really?" It wasn't a hard question to answer, though. "Yea, absolutely, man. Absolutely." It was weird how the two of them had gotten closer since... well, since their parents had died. He still loved getting on Noah's last nerve, but at least there was a mutual respect behind the taunting and name-calling and juvenile ass-kickings.

But if he thought that was surprising, then Noah's final statement was the real kicker. He laughed and leaned over to get a better look at Terry. "Hell yea, buddy! Your dad's already a pushover with you!" He smacked Noah's back again, giving his shoulder a squeeze. "Congratulations, man, he's the coolest dumpster-baby ever."

The healer gave him a dissaproving look, which he pointedly ignored.
