Who: Andromeda Black and Ted Tonks
Where: The library!
What: Meetings and all.
When: Late January, 1971

She really should have been studying harder, all things considered. It wasn't that she didn't have motivation to do so -- she did want sorely to become some sort of useful person in the Wizarding World so that she wouldn't have to rely on her family's fortune for her whole life (the thought of it left a bad taste in her mouth) ... but she did like he spare time, and homework during the year just seemed like a waste.

That was why she'd gotten Elena Nottingham to do her potions work. She hadn't bullied her ... much. It had been more of a gentle sort of half-true prodding, really!

No, really.

Andromeda tapped her sugar quill against her lower lip and kicked a foot up onto the table in front of her, leaning back in her chair far enough that the front two legs lifted up off the ground.

Okay, applications of wormwood include...

Merlin, she was bored already.

That was possibly the least helpful thing she could possibly have done, she decided. Andromeda frowned, leaning her head back against the wood of the chair with a loud 'thunk' so that she wouldn't have to watch the way he was cradling his cheek.

"Do you really need to ask what the bloody fuck's wrong with me?" She snapped, still staring pointedly at the ceiling. This was not in the least bit his fault -- except for him being so bloody handsome, of course -- and she knew she shouldn't have been pushing this further, but at least if he thought she was a crazy bitch, this problem could be avoided completely.

"Look, you just need -- to go. Please?" She'd already made a damn fool of herself, after all. No need to prolong it.

Maybe he was a fool for hoping, but Ted had actually had a shred of faith that she was going to apologize to him. For just a second, he thought that maybe she was a decent person who cared when they smacked someone, even if it was someone so much more lowly than herself--someone who apologized when they did something wrong, no matter how demeaning it was.

But, no, of course not. He had been stupid to ever have faith in a Black girl, not when he already knew what they were like. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Well, at least he wouldn't make that mistake again. Ted's hand dropped from his cheek and he shouldered his bag again. "You don't have to ask, I'm already gone," he scoffed at her, turning on his heel to leave the Library.

Really fucking stupid.
