Making Amends
 Kael made his way along the now familiar Defenders compound. He knew where he needed to go, but was nervous. He didn't have the Aesir sense of bravery, but it was something that needed doing. He knocked on the door to the room he knew Vernique and Solver were occupying.

"Vernique, it is Kael. ...may i come in?"

"Okay." Vernique hadn't left their suite much. Hadn't let Solver out of her sight.

He entered quietly, as was his habit. He smiled lightly at Solver before turning to Vernique.

"I..wanted to apologize to you."

"What others felt is outside my ability to judge," he replied, sitting down in a nearby chair. "Ever since we arrived in that..illusion, something kept at me that it was wrong. I wanted to learn what..but that shortsightedness blinded me to more important thinga. I'm not Aesir, there was no duty keeping me there.." he lightly caresses Solver's head as the baby coos. "I owe you both amends."
