Another Summer Gone
Jai was somewhat depressed at the idea of going back to school next week, though he would be glad to see his friends again. He'd also signed up to tutor mat this year and he'd find out who his "student" would be not long into the school year. No sports, of course, because of his powers. He also had to make sure Irey didn't find her present until their birthday.

Thinking about all of these things kept his mind off his largest worry, the one that had eaten away at him all summer long: Traya was going to college, with college classes, college parties, and college activities.

Worst of all, there would be college guys.

It wouldn't be hard for him to see her when he wanted, but they'd both agreed to enjoy the summer (which they had, by God) and see where things went from there. What if she'd changed her mind about him? What if she wanted to explore college and everything it had to offer.

Finally, the wondering got too intense and Jai had to get things out in the open. He whipped out his phone and fired of a text.

	Traya's room was largely filled with boxes, for the move to Met. U, though she wouldn't be actually moving until next week. It wouldn't be the first time she'd ever been away from home for a long stretch, of course, she'd gone to boarding school, but this would be different. 	The hug and kiss are enough to put him in a better mood instantly. He returns the kiss, and hugs her tight, then smiles. "Hey, I missed you. I've got our tickets." he says, leading her toward the park. Once they're inside, his hand reaches down to find hers. "So, you all packed for Metropolis U? Need any help moving? "Yeah, I just left registration before I got here. I signed up to be a math tutor this year, so I'll be helping someone out and getting credit for it. Meanwhile, I think I've got two free periods this year because of all the extra stuff I did last year.

I'm pretty ahead on credits, so Junior year is going to be a breeze. Then I'll start putting in my applications for college and getting that squared away." Jai says.

"Do you have your courses all set up at school? What day are you leaving?" he asks.

	"You have any ideas where you're going to go?" she asked. Traya nodded. "Classes are all set. Calculus, Intro to Meteorology, Composition, and a Sociology course. We're gonna leave on Thursday of next week, give me the weekend to settle in." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Well, I'm definitely applying for Kansas University, USD, and Gotham U." Jai says. He's also got an application for Metropolis U, but he doesn't tell her. If he gets in, it'll be a surprise.

Well, if today is decent, he'll actually apply.

"Yeah, that's a good idea. You'll need time to figure out where everything is, right? I hear the campus is huge, and you'll probably get bombarded by every social group there to join as soon as they meet you." Jai says.

A good question, and one she's prepared to answer.

"I do," she said. "I have a lot of fun with you, Jai. You're smart, funny, you, well, you get me. And it's not like with either of us there's that much of a distance factor involved."

She smiled. "And besides, you can tell all your friends at school you're dating a college girl, and one day I can show up and prove you right."

Jai smiles brightly now from ear to ear.

"I really like you, Traya. You're funny, beautiful, and you like math as much as I do. Oh, and you love Star Wars like I do, too." he says.

"I'm looking forward to that, too. None of the guys believe me when I tell them about you, so watching them eat their words will be great." he says.

"Oh, I think we are going to do that Halloween Party this year. Do you think you'll be able to come?" he asks.

	The tilt-a-whirl is amazing, and Jai can barely keep his eyes off Traya. Soon, they're off that ride and moving to the next one, and the next, and the next after that.
