Fred is 30 minutes older than George and if you listen to his mother’s stories he wouldn’t settle unless his twin was in the cot with him. Luckily for them, this isn’t the case anymore. Growing up at the Burrow was idyllic, especially when you had a Percy to play tricks on. Fred learned at an early age how to duck and dodge, that came from having a Bill and a Charlie in the house. Ron was fair game when he came along, but Ginny got off comparatively lightly when it came to pranks because she was just as mischievous as he and George. However, Fred and George were definitely an army of two and everyone else seemed to fade into the background, not that they didn’t love their siblings, they just liked each other best.

At Hogwarts they weren’t quite as isolationist and became firm friends with Lee, Angelina, Alicia and Katie. Though they could still be found in each other’s company, quite often one would be present while the other was not. (Usually because he was using the distraction as a means to prank some unsuspecting soul) They won places on the Quidditch team in their second year and quickly became know for their uncanny knack of always knowing where the other was. Similar, it would seem, to their Uncles Fabian and Gideon. Their dedication to studies was lacking at best and they shared homework playing to each of their strengths. Fred got OWLs in Potions, Defense and Charms, but had the distinct feeling that school wasn’t really for him.

The Twins had been thinking up pranks for years, and as their experiments started to yield better results they decided to market them. Fred even went so far as to draw up mail order forms in the summer holidays of 1994, but their Mum found them and things had to be put on hold until they were back at Hogwarts. After a bit of research, Fred realised that enough people at the school had showed an interest in their mail order items (they dispatched from a little used bathroom), to make owning a buisiness a viable option. He kept his eye on the Prophet and as soon as he saw Number 93 come onto the market he suggested to George they buy it. His Twin, always ambitious, agreed without hesitating. They just had to stump up the cash.

Their seventh year ended spectacularly when they quit amidst the most perfect chaos imaginable. The fireworks and portable swamp would later go down in history. Though they didn’t take NEWTs the twins established a healthy business catering to kids, teens and some adults, which provided pranks and tricks of their own invention. They set up a shop in Diagon Alley which turns over a tidy profit supplying Hogwarts students with tricks and pranks of the very highest standard.

Relationship wise Fred has a rocky past and is definitely more into the physical than emotional side of things. He first had sex with a muggle girl, older than him, during the summer between his third and fourth years. It wasn't particularly great, but at least he'd done it. It was roughly around this time when he started to really notice boys as well as girls and one in particular caught his attention. His Captain, Oliver Wood. Of course, Wood was older and he never thought he'd have a chance until he started to notice Oliver noticing him too. During Fred's fourth year, they started messing about, snogging in deserted classrooms, that sort of thing. When Fred turned 15, things progressed a little further and during the summer between his fourth and fifth years he actually slept with Ollie for the first time. This 'relationship' continued until Oliver left, the pair keeping it secret and grabbing each other whenever the opportunity arose.

With Oliver gone, Fred asked a girl to the Yule Ball, things progressed from there and they dated for most of his sixth year. The relationship was pretty solid and public, which was a bit different for Fred and he wasn't entirely sure he liked it. He couldn't seem to get any alone time once he started seeing someone and come Summer he'd had enough. Within a month, he was back in his extremely complicated on/off relationship with Ollie. But he had to return to Hogwarts for his final year, making them "off" again and during his seventh year he started seeing a different girl. One who wasn't as clingy as the last.

The Twins grew up knowing about the Order of the Phoenix. Since the summer holidays prior to their seventh year, the Twins had expressed an interest in joining the Order. George, and Fred, were both determined to do their bit and both made sure they became adept at defensive magic. Not to mention they have more than a few tricks up their sleeves. Bravery is no issue for them and once they left Hogwarts they joined up; despite their Mother’s disapproval.

Near the end of 1997, the Twins decided to expand their empire into the realm of night clubs. Fred's not sure who suggested it first, but the club was an instant success. Named 'Never Never Land', the club is located in a warehouse in the London docklands and has the appearance of a plain factory for their Wheezes during the day. The Ministry do not know of the club's existence as it is open to Muggles, Muggleborns and pretty much anyone, which is definitely illegal considering the Statute of Secrecy. Muggles experience a slight bewilderment charm as they enter the club so they don't recognise the magic of the place.

SECRETS
#1 Fred has pretended to be George just to get laid. He's not proud of the fact, but sometimes being a Twin is just too convenient.

#2 Fred has died and come back. It's not as drastic as it sounds, but he hasn't told anyone -especially not George- because he knows they'll be upset/annoyed/worried.
