i need you girls' help, seriously! i've looked everywhere online and i can't seem to find out how i want my hair for my prom in may. my dress is this one and i'm getting all kinds of suggestions but i can't find anything i'm in love with. last year i hated my hair at both proms, and i want to love it this time! pictures would be nice :)

Alright, not knowing how you have "hated" your hair in the past, I'm shooting blind here...but I think any of these would look great on you and with the dress. Key thing to keep in mind here: I like simple hair (I did my own for both proms), and I love French Twists since they are incredibly flattering.

Anything look like what you want? Or am I fumbling in the dark here? I think any of these would be really gorgeous with your face shape and that dress.

At any rate, good luck finding something that works for you!

omg as a future hairstylist, your post just scared the crap out of me haha. imagining myself doing all of that... terrifying.

Haha, I'm sure you'd be fine once you're ready for it. Otherwise, trial and error, I guess? I'd offer my hair as practice if you were anywhere nearby, haha.

well, could you show us what it looked like last year? also, could you tell us what you liked & disliked about it?

that would be very helpful. :]

last year it was terrible, i went to the same girl both times which was a mistake, and neither looked anything like the pictures i took in.

my prom: the curls just didnt feel right, they fell out super easily and the hair in front of my face kept falling down all night.

friends prom: i asked for a low bun and i got 2 buns on top of one another with all my hair pulled back (which looks terrible on my face) i cried for a few hours.

yeah, my bff got her hair & makeup done by her cousin. her cousin did a horrible job & made her pay like 60$ to do that to her. but my bff ended up crying & her boyfriend's mom actually fixed her make-up & hair. she gave her a 50's make-up & hair with a sexy-ish, silky dress. it didn't match at all.

anyway! on you, i think you'd best do this: http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k277/blondisma/hairideawedding.jpg maybe curl those hairs around your face (very lightly, not a tight curl, more like an elegant curl). maybe just pin it up in the back with curls coming down. & some cute hair pins like those flowers in the picture.

i like the first picture but i can tell how that would bother you. i think the curls shouldn't have been so tightly curled. if the hairstylist can, maybe it would be better if they curled it with a flatiron instead. & you needed way more hairspray most likely. i've seen women come in & just soak their head with hairspray & yes, it isnt crunchy with the right spray.

that's my 2 cents. :]
