Eventually, the Kryptonian girl stopped struggling.

They'd taken her unaware and she'd still crippled nearly a dozen of the Parademons he'd brought to complete the mission. Still, as she slumps the ground unconscious, Desaad smiles. The master will be happy for the success, if only because they'd taken the daughter of the hated Kryptonian. When they were done with her, the rage of the one called Superman would peak beyond anything ever seen. His anger would be legendary.

Darkseid had foreseen it, so it would come to pass.

Take the girl. She is needed on Apokolips." Desaad says, opening the Boom Tube back to the homeworld. One of the Parademons lifts Jo Kent and drags her into the portal with little issue.

"I have another to find." he says, motioning to the others.

	Lily was shopping. She hadn't been to actual high school in a few years, due to not being on Paradise Island for her training. The first day of school was coming quickly, and she wanted to look her best. Lily was walking back to her apartment. She had her iPod headphones in, and wasn't really paying attention. One parademon is struck and slams into a parked car, causing the vehicle's alarm to go off. It's slow to get up.

Two more slam through the walls of a building on the other side of the street and don't get up immediately.

There are still seven more, however, and all look a little wary of engaging the young woman with their fists.

Kalibak snarls.

"Fools! Take her!" he says, grabbing and /throwing/ one of the parademons at her.

	"I'm the Goddamned Champion of Artemis!" Lily snarled, getting really annoyed as she kept swinging her bags at the parademons. She threw kicks, punches, anything that she could to slow them down. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The Parademons fall, one by one, as the Champion of Artemis drives them back. When they all lay sprawled upon the ground, Kaliback draws his mace and steps forward.

"I do not know who this Artemis is, but I have not been challenged in some time. Perhaps her champion will offer me the sport I crave.

Defend yourself, Earthling." Kalibak says, rushing forward and swinging the weapon straight for Lily's skull.

	"Don't mind if I do!" Lily said, holding up her fists. The mace clinked against her Amazon bracelets. She thanked the gods silently in her head that she remembered to wear them. Lily reached into her purse, pulling out a small dagger. The dagger grew in size, becoming a sword. Lily swung her sword at Kalibak's mace. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	That single attack from Kalibak tells Lily that Kalibak is stronger than her mother and possibly stronger than Aunt Diana. He parries her sword attack with speed that belies his huge size and grins down at her. "Oh, this will be fun." he says, lifting a foot to try kicking her in the stomach. Tim had requested Awesome Casserole (the cheese-filled goodness version) and it was actually pretty good timing; J'anna needed to go to the grocery store anyway so she head out with her little list tucked neatly into her tidy little purse. She could have taken the car or been driven...but it was a nice day. J'anna wanted to walk so she headed down the street almost whistling as she enjoyed the day.

	The old woman certainly got J'anna's polite attention. People should help their elders. It was Important. "I'm sure it's not old age. This area's just changed a lot recently, what with them adding the new parking structure. It's just right this way." J'anna made no effort to stop the woman from touching her. "Such a nice young woman! Thank you for helping an old lady." she says, laying a cold hand upon her arm.

"My, you're so warm! And pretty! I bet all the young men like you. I was quite the looking myself, once upon a time." she says.

"Yes, Granny was very much sought after for her skills." she says.

"She was especially good at trapping." the woman says, as a Boom Tube opens before J'anna and a squad of parademons take flight, heading toward her.

The old woman's grip upon her arm becomes like a vise.

"Take her now!" Granny Goodness yells, letting her disguise drop.

	"Son of a..." The woman's grip may be vise-like but J'anna's intangiblity is an asset. She quickly shifts and is able to pull back before solidifying and going full martian...and bursting into flames. "I'm not going anywhere." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The one and only time she went out of the house in her 'comfy' panties. Damnit, Aunt Dophin was right about always wearing your best because you never knew what might happen... So I know you'll enjoy this as much as Granny will." she says, tossing something under J'anna's feet. 	J'anna does not go down easy. She's died. She knows what real pain is, what agony is, what it is to suffer and as a result she struggles against the Agony Matrix, the flames she whips around her intensifying in number as she fights. For awhile it looks very much like she will beat the Matrix but even Martian torture tolerance has limits. She passes out. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Jenn liked the parks of Metropolis, and the other cities of Earth. She was fortunate, with help from J'onn, she had a human identity she could use when required, and a place to stay while she waited for word that she could return to her world.

But even with the terraforming they were working on, there was nothing like this on Saturn. Her true nature hidden by a simple telepathic broadcast that caused all to see her to view her as human, she could, for the moment, enjoy herself.

	After years of combating enemies with telepathic abilities, Darkseid instructed his scientists to start breeding new Parademons that could not be easily stymied by telepathic attacks. These Parademons zero in upon Jenn with little trouble, racing toward her while they scare away the normal humans in the area. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The noise distracted her from her introspection and she realized, almost instantly, that her illusion wasn't working on the creatures. She dropped it, adopting a fighting stance. "Come on then," she said. "You'll not find a Princess of Saturn so easy." The gem in her forehead flared as she fired a psychokinetic force blast at the nearest one. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The nearest parademon is dropped by Jenn's blast, but the others rush forward undeterred, spreading out a bit so as not to fall victim to their comrade's mistake. The try to surround Jenn to cut off her escape routes. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Another parademon falls, and another as Jenn's attacks seem to be driving them back.

When she's most distracted by her current enemies, Desaad finally strikes.

Something slams into Jenn's back, attaching itself to her. Suddenly, ever single pain she has ever felt in her life seems to ignite in her nerve centers at once...except that these pains feel one-thousand times worse than they were when she first felt them.

"I am sorry to mar such a magnificent creature, Saturnian, but you must be brought to heel. You will serve a greater purpose than the lowly existence you are ekeing out upon this world. You will serve a power beyond any you have ever known.

What you are feeling is called the Agony Matrix. It stimulates the every single one of your pain receptors at once. All of the worst pains you have ever felt, at one time, forever.

There is no shame in this defeat, Saturnian. You could not have hoped to win any more than the Kryptonian." Desaad says, rubbing his hands together.

	The pain is incredible. And she cannot do anything to remove it. Her shapeshifting powers, limited though they are, don't let her slip away. Gods of Saturn... it was worse than fire. 	One of the parademons hits Jenn in the back of the head, drawing a scream from Desaad. "No, fools! Don't damage her! She must be as unspoiled as possible for Granny's work to be done." Desaad yells. Once Jenn is out, the Parademons lift her from the ground and carry her through the Boom Tube, which Desaad follows through. (Reply to this)(Parent)

The final target, of all of them, would be hardest to assault because their enemies were known to congregate here. Rushing in foolishly would only upset the plan, and so the master had an idea.

Fifteen minutes before their attack, a "natural" disaster occurs just off the East Coast.

Once a ship leaves, carrying away the heroes, Mantis decides that now is the best time to strike.

"Parademons! Forward!" he yells, opening the Boom Tube directly into the JLA HQ. When he lays eyes upon the woman he seeks, he six Parademons toward her.

"She is the one. Take her!" Mantis yells, readying his weapons.
