The Coming Storm
This scene occurs after "Daughters".

Namor, King of Atlantis, waits in front of the viewing screen to speak with another King, one whom he has both aided and battled at times. Namor has respect, if not friendship, for and with Doctor Doom; this is the only reason he feels he can speak with Doom regarding a matter such as this one. Doom has the ability, technology, and above all, the information necessary to aid Namor in this quest.

Namor is aware of what it may take to secure the Latverian Monarch's assistance, but he is prepared to pay that price.

Just as his enemies will pay for their transgressions against Atlantis...and him.

When Victor Von Doom appears before him, Namor steels himself and looks Doom square in the eyes.

"Our time is valuable, so I will dispense with games of statesmanship. I intend to wage a war against false kings and queens, pretenders to thrones they know nothing of." he says.

"I seek three things to wage this war, and all of them are within your power to provide. Speak your terms, and we will discuss what is necessary for us to deal with each other." the Sea King says.

Doom regards Namor carefully through his steel mask.

"What are these things you require?" he asks. "Tell me this, Atlantean, and I shall consider the terms."

"The first, simply enough, is information." Namor offers.

"Over the years you have, at times, used intermediaries to further your goals while you pursued a larger plan. Intermediaries with abilities that could keep your enemies busy.

I seek the names of those who might work for hire, as I don't employ such people often. My enemies know my hand if they see it, and I intend to keep my motives shrouded as long as I can before the final strike." Namor says.

"The other things are pieces of technology...technology that I'm also aware you may have employed at one time or another." Namor says.

Namor describes the devices he's looking for, and how many of each he requires.

"Those are the items I request. What is your price?" Namor asks.

"The names of the mercenaries is worth little. Provide me with information as to Atlantis's current numbers in your armed forces. That would be enough." He considers the devices in question. "As for the devices... they can be constructed easily enough. For those, however... I demand something else." He leans forward. "The king of Atlantis would owe Doom a favor."

Namor nearly balked at Doom's asking price for the mercenaries, but bit his tongue. Namor could go looking himself, but it was likely that his inquiries would could be traced, and if they were, Frost would not need more than such to guess his intent.

The phrasing of Doom's question, however, gave Namor something to work with.

"Seven thousand standing, at current, with three thousand more than can rapidly ready." Namor says.

He asked for armed forces, and I have supplied them.

When Namor heard the price of the necessary devices, he almost laughed.

"And I suppose you'll hold on to this favor until such a time as it is conveniently inconvenient for me? As long as it does not directly, or indirectly harm my people, I will agree to this favor.

After all, these devices will not be turned on you, and we have an non-aggression pact between our nations at this time." Namor says.

Doom apparently is content with the answer Namor gives him.

"Very well. The favor will not directly or indirectly harm the Atlantean people. You have the word of Doom."

"Very well. Then we have reached an accord. The devices are not necessary right away. Once you have them ready, you need only make me aware, and we shall set a time and place of meeting." he says.

Namor is certain that Doom's favor will not benefit Atlantis, even if it does not harm such. Doom, like any ruler, honors the letter of his agreements, if not the spirit in which they were made. To believe aught else would be foolish on Namor's part.

"Thank you for meeting with me, Doom. Who are the mercenaries you've used in the past? And are they incarcerated or free?"

"I will arrange contact. Be ready, King Namor," Doom says, then cuts off communication.
