If Rabastan was willing to come out and be disowned by his parents for the sake of their relationship, Remus felt like he had to be able to come out to his friends. James and Peter knew something was wrong. He and Sirius were hardly talking these days. Remus thought Sirius and Lily were being increasingly less careful about their relationship, and things were... Well, he figured Sirius should be around for when he told James and Peter, just so he didn't think Remus wanted their fight to continue. He'd had Peter lie to Sirius to get him to come.

Remus stood in front of his friends, sat on a row on James's bed, and cleared his throat. "I have something to tell you that I probably should have told you a while ago," he said. "You're my best friends. Even if we're fighting, Sirius, and I... want you to hear from me that I'm gay before you hear a rumour from someone else, because I'm dating Rabastan Lestrange and he needs someone to support him in front of the rest of the school right now."

Sirius was grumpy about being lied to by Peter. Peter had implied there was porn in their dorm. And of course, Sirius had fallen for it. And now he was just annoyed. He crossed his arms over his chest and looked at Remus. "I knew all of this already. Can I go now?"

James looked up at Remus and nodded. "We know, Mate. Peter and I saw you with him on the map." He pointed out, then shrugged. "It's okay." He stood and hugged his friend. "But, why Rabastan Lestrange? He's a bigot."

"Oh," Remus said. This was all... sort of a let down. "How do you always figure out my secrets before I get a chance to tell you them? First the werewolf thing and now this." He looked at James and shook his head. "He's not a bigot. He knows I'm a werewolf. He doesn't care. He's not like his family."

"You're not very good at keeping secrets," Peter told Remus, and then looked at Sirius beside him. He knew the lack of porn had ticked him off, but he wanted to try and make up for it. "How did you know?"

	James stared at Remus when the name came from his mouth. His eyes went to Sirius, but Sirius looked back at him with a guilty expression. And that's how he knew it was true. Because Sirius couldn't lie to him. "You-" James felt his eyes watering. "But.. But, you're..." His chest ached. A tear slipped down his cheek and he stormed out of the room. 	James stopped walking when he heard Remus and turned to glare at him. "How could you not tell me?" He asked him, tear streaming down his cheeks. "Why would you not tell me?" 	James hadn't gotten that far. He leaned against the wall and closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down a bit. He didn't want to be gay and he didn't want to fancy his friend.
