HUGE BRITISH AND IRISH LEAGUE ANNOUNCEMENT
With the enormous surge of excitement from the fans and players of the British and Irish Quidditch League, Q.U.A.B.B.L.E. has put its mind together to make the league and its components the best in the world.
¤ First and foremost, say GOODBYE to the separate leagues! While teams All-Star teams will still be determined by the Phoenix and Occamy standings, all thirteen major league teams will be lumped together into one points-based chart. At the end of the regular season, the top eight scoring teams (leaving five out of the playoffs!) will be sent into a rapid fire four-week long round-robin playoff, the teams all starting on an even playing field of zero.
¤ PRESEASON will begin May 6th. The pushing up of the preseason shifts the rest of the regular season, and regular matches will begin June 1st, just in time for the students of Hogwarts to make it to the pitches! The league will now stretch from June until November, in which the round-robin matches will begin.
¤ The TRADE DEADLINE will be set for August 31st, meaning that teams will have two extra weeks of working with their newly acquired players. Fortunately, for team loyalties, the ALL-STAR GAME will be held July 31st, in honor of HARRY POTTER, THE-BOY-WHO LIVED, who was born on this day. We here at Q.U.A.B.B.L.E. are sure that the young hero, wherever he is, is a fan of British and Irish League Quidditch!
