Hephaestus and Dinah
Hephaestus, Master of the Forge, God of Innovation, Crafstmen, Fire, and Metal appeared before Dinah Kord, the earth splitting open and his form limping out, magma falling off his body.

"Dinah Kord. These are troubled times for mortals and gods." He rasps, rubbing chapped and soot-stained hands together thoughtfully. "I am in need of an avatar, and your keen mind pleases me."

Hephaestus sinks into the chair with a sigh of relief, rubbing his lame leg. "Very well then, mortal. Let's get to work."

He reaches into a pocket of his forge-apron, and pulls out a hammer, throwing it at Dinah's feet. "This is the essence of invention. Take it up, and it will serve you to create whatever you can imagine. You'll find your normal attributes to be significantly enhanced as well." He lets out a laugh. "And with my backing you, you should be able to imagine quite a lot."

Dinah picked up the hammer and was almost brought to her knees with the surge of power. As one of the non-powered of her circle (even Riley was kinda powered, with all his gadgets and gizmos and stuff), she'd often wondered just how being truly powerful had felt.

And now...

It wasn't just the power. It was the insight. She knew how it all worked. How things fit together. How to make things happen. Dinah had always considered herself smart... but she knew nothing compared to what she knew now.

"Thank-you," she said. "I'll use this right. I promise."

	"I believe you." The god smirks, wiping hands on his apron as he gets back to his feet. "Now go show them what fire and metal and a keen mind will have wrought."
