I haven't played enough of the game to know (it belonged to Chris when I was still with him and I didn't finish disc 1) but given the information on the site, I'd say it's at least plausible.

Reading that article made me want to play it again. I bought Braver Fencer Mushashi just to play the demo to it. I liked both games a lot so I bought FFVIII later. Which seems to be odd to the fandom. My experience with it says I'm a weirdo for even liking it. XD
