Home sweet home...well..not yet...
It always took a few days to learn the ropes of a new place - extra hard since she'd done her best to keep to herself. Not the easiest with this group of people. But she'd finally gotten the lay out, was able to navigate down to the kitchen without getting lost as she poked around for a late night snack, having avoided most major meals as she settled in. It wasn't that she wasn't friendly....oh wait...

Ironically Fred got his share of sustenance around this same time, for similar reasons. He notes the new arrival. What was that Sylvie told him to try? Making nice? The world would be so much better if he could just work without this so-called human interaction.

"Miss Kelly, yes?" He asked, he remains partially in shadow, not wanting his animalistic features to get him fireballed.

	He smiles a little at her sarcasm, fangs glinting a little. He found it refreshing. "A few months now. I'm not really a member per se. It's an alliance of convenience arranged by my cousin, Slyvia. 	He nods as he opens the refrigerator for something edible. "She is..." He stops, as if unsure how to continue. He wasn't used to genuine affection from anyone. "The standard practice with this place is to teach young mutants how to control their powers. I imagine soon enough they will put you through training and exercises to do so," he informs, taking the ingredients necessary to make himself a ham sandwich. "They also have a basic schooling program, though I'm not sure it's mandatory. I'm not an actual member so I don't do it."

"Many mutants' mutations are unstable and make it hard to live a relatively normal existence. My research is looking into using more stable lines of mutation to stabilize those with more horrendous ones. Hopefully as a means of preventing debilitating mutations in future generations." He shakes his head. "They won't allow for live test subjects. It hinders the speed of my work, but it's a price I must pay for my asylum here."

He nods, grateful for a willing audience. "Mutation will occur, it's a natural offshoot of human evolution. That can't be changed. However, some mutations are relatively benign and easy to control while others..I met a mutant who has a mouth where his stomach should be. Can you see him ever having a normal life? If my research works, such debilitating mutations would be a thing of the past."
