Kendall!
Thomas twisted the broken piece of wood between his fingers, having been unable to put it away since it had arrived in the post. He spun the familiar handle in his hand, the grooves and curves bringing back memories good and bad: the smell of Ollivander's shop and the surprise at how easily the wand had chosen him and the vague, blurry memory of the wand being snapped, the crack reverberating between his ears. Thomas had thought this wand had been lost forever, but to have it back in his possession once more was not a fortunate thing. Whoever had taken the wand in the first place was sending him a message, and he didn't like it one bit.

"What are you making?" Thomas asked without much of a question in his tone as he entered his kitchen. Kendall was preparing what he assumed was dinner, but Thomas kept his gaze down as he pulled open a clutter drawer (that wasn't particularly cluttered, as he couldn't stand a mess) and placed the wand into it. He'd held onto the wand tightly since it had arrived, but not in the presence of his friend. He still wasn't sure what to do with the entire situation; would telling people about it make it worse or would simply ignoring it cause it to go away?

He slid onto a stool at the end of the kitchen island, lifting his chin to try and get a look at what was being stirred in the saucepan. "That doesn't smell healthy."

After spending a month cooking various healthy dishes in hopes of helping Nona feel better, Kendall was craving something grossly bad for you but so delicious you didn't even care. He had started out making fajita's and was in the process of sauteing the peppers and onions and beef when he decide that it would really be great if it were cheesey. It didn't take much for him to decide that yes, you could turn fajitas into nachos. All it would really do was add more vegetables, which would theoretically make it healthier. (Not true, but he could pretend.)

He was juggling stirring the cheese sauce he made, and keeping the veggies from burning when Thomas walked in. "Fajachos? Nacitas? I don't know I was making fajitas and then decided half way through I really wanted nachos."

One of the many (less important) reasons Nona needed to get better. Bad for you food was always much better than good for you food, which is all she had so far. He was actually quite surprised that Thomas hadn't commented on him sneaking off to see her. Not that he was really sneaking off, as he didn't even live in this house. And it wasn't exactly a secret either. It just had yet to come up in conversation.

He wasn't even quite sure they were dating yet, and Kendall wasn't dumb. He knew that there was a relatively high chance that his friends would have a thing or two to say about him seeing her. And why rush that, when he was still figuring out how he felt.

Although, with Rose who knew where with her Quodpot player, and Thomas generally being far more understanding, this would be an ideal time to test the waters.

Turning down the heat, he looked around the kitchen as he wiped his hands of on the makeshift apron he had on. "Do you have chips? Or do I need to fry the tortillas I had for the fajitas?"

"Er..."

Thomas shrugged. Since he'd moved into the house, Kendall had been the one filling up his kitchen, so...he really had no idea what resided in his cabinets. "How about you try and make your own?"

That seemed like the best solution. Thomas wasn't very keen on eating nachos and other fried looking food, cheesy food or what have you---he had no idea how Kendall managed to stay in shape with the amount of junk food that he stuffed into his mouth, but he supposed some people were just born that way. Thomas, he had to work hard to keep in proper quidditch shape, and just because the season was still a few months off it did not mean that he could have a couple of 'cheat' days. Though, it was getting remarkably hard with how often Kendall popped up with an apron on in his kitchen. Thomas' resolve was being tested thrice daily.

"What did you do today?" Thomas asked idly, always beeing quite horrible at being nonchalant. His friends were used to him being blunt and to the point, but he didn't wish to startle Kendall with the news of, yes, a message of sorts from his captors. Thomas himself didn't even want to acknowledge it, but it was nagging him greatly and again, his friends knew how much he hated being nagged.

He snatched an apple from the fruit bowl on the island and used his new, not-broken wand to peel the skin. "The blueprints for the pitch arrived in the post."

Kendall nodded setting to work on making chips of his own. Thomas should be sit in the kitchen more often when he cooked, he didn't have such terrible ideas.

He bite his lip at Thomas question. So much for it not coming up in conversation. "Well. Funny you should ask." He said ducking his head slightly as he cut the tortillas into triangles. "I've been meaning to tell you that I have been sorta seeing this girl I met in Istanbul." Shrugging a shoulder Kendall glance up at his friend. "Not that it's anything serious but, I like her so... now you know."

He snacked on one of the peppers, not really wanting to finish his making the food. This is what happened when he was indecisive while cooking, always wanted to stop and eat half way through. Frowning at Thomas' apple he set to frying chips, one day he would get him to break down and eat one of his atrociously unhealthy snacks, dinner, whatever you wanted to call it.

"Oh?" He jumped on the change of subject, hoping that Thomas wouldn't dwell. Maybe he could get another week or so without having to face any fall out. He dipped a fresh chip into the cheese dip he made, then scooped up some veggies before holding it out to Thomas. "Excellent. When do we start?"

"Since Istanbul?" Thomas inquired as he took hold of the chip. Nacho. Fajacho? The smell was more than enough for him to drop his apple onto the counter and soon he was crunching away at the delectable concoction. Thomas' eyes went wide as he chewed and he nodded in approval, "If this quidditch thing doesn't work out, at least you've got a back up plan."

He swallowed the nacho and reached for another, but he wasn't distracted enough by the delicious taste to have completely missed Kendall's highly interesting piece of news.

"Since Istanbul?" Thomas repeated, intrigued. His love life had suffered a great deal because of the Euro Cup, but he was finding that the weight of a relationship, no matter how relaxed it had been, was not missed by his shoulders. Maybe he was just meant to be alone, at least for the foreseeable future. Things were just easier that way. "Is she a player? I can't believe you haven't told me."

The talk of the pitch could wait, though Thomas itched to get further into detail He had wanted his own practice pitch since his sister refused to let him fly on hers. Thomas used to release her bludgers in the middle of the night to make a mess of things, but he was going to make sure that no one could cause such problems on his.

Plus, his sister wouldn't be invited to fly, anyway.

"Is she a player? A fan?" Thomas grimaced at the last bit, hoping that Kendall would have the good sense to avoid keeping things up with a groupie.

"It wasn't that long ago." Kendall muttered shoving a chip of his own into his mouth. It really wasn't, only a couple of months. Although he usually told Thomas everything so he could see where it was a bit suspicious. "It hasn't come up."

He piled up the finished chips on a plate before pouring the cheese and veggies on them. There a messy snack to distract Thomas. He could set to cleaning the dishes, but his friend kept asking questions. Kendall should have known better than to expect Thomas to let such a piece of information pass on its own.

"She is not a fan." Kendall bit out frowning at Thomas' grimace. Really, he had hoped after all these years he would know him better than that. Although on a scale of bad ideas Kendall wasn't exactly sure Thomas would view pursuing a Pepper better than pursuing a fan. "Or a player. Neither. She was just in town visiting her brother."

Kendall paused realizing going much farther he would be actively hiding her identity instead of just not bringing the topic up. He wasn't that guy. If he couldn't even admit to Thomas he was interested in this girl, then there was no point of even continuing. It was no way to start any sort of relationship.

He looked up to Thomas bracing his hands on the edge of the counter. He cleared his throat slightly before speaking up again. "Her name is Nona, we ran into each other in that busy bistro you didn't want to go to."

Kendall watched Thomas for a moment before pressing on, might as well just get it all out in the open now while he was at it. "Also since it is going to come up anyways, and I hope I am right in thinking you will make less of a fuss about it, her brother maybethestationmanagerfortheWWN but that really isn't important because this is about her not him." He dropped his gaze and shoved three more chips in his mouth once he finished speaking hoping that this wasn't going to turn into a big deal. Another two chips. He really didn't want to go back to his flat with his nagging sister who ate all his food and didn't replace a thing.
