Scarlett
Devon had never been the kind of woman to get too excited over the idea of one of her friends having a baby - she had never squealed over tiny baby booties, or graphic bibs that were opened up at the showers held for the mother, though now that she was a mother she could certainly appreciate the cute items she could buy for her baby girl. Still, she knew that getting Scarlett to go shopping with her was like pulling teeth, since her friend wasn't into the shoes and the girly dresses that Devon often spent hours shopping for. Since she had her daughter, she was more often found in a pair of jeans and a nice blouse, finding that she preferred comfort over fashion...at least while she was at home. Thankfully she had lost a good amount of her baby weight, so she was excited to get herself a new wardrobe.

They spent some time walking around to different shops and boutiques, trying to keep her 'oh my God, this is so cute's to a minimum while she was around Scarlett. Her hands were full of bags by the time they were done, satisfied with all of her purchases. Now it was time to keep her word to her friend, by stopping at Quality Quidditch Supplies. She was more familiar with the equipment that surrounded them than people might expect her to be, because while Devon enjoyed watching Quidditch every now and then, she wasn't an avid fan. The only reason she knew the difference between the different brooms was because Rafe was always going on about which were the best.

It took some sweet talking to convince one of the shop boys to keep her bags in the back storage closet, so that she didn't have to keep lugging them around with her, but one sweet smile and a few bats of her eyelashes later, her hands were free, allowing her to roam around the supply shop. Her fingers extended to touch the smooth wood of the broom handle that was in front of her.

"Out of curiosity, when was the last time you went shopping for something that wasn't Quidditch supplies or food?"

The question was asked casually, her attention turning to her friend who looked far more interested in the murchandise that surrounded them than her redheaded counterpart.

Scarlett pursed her lips, sending a sidelong glance at Devon for a moment before turning her eyes back on the display case in front of her. She didn't need equipment or a new broom; her endorsements took care of all that the moment it looked like her broom's end was splintering. She was instead staring at the collection of the vintage league championship pins that the store had in a glass case. Seeing all the teams' logos and the various years caused her to think back to those seasons, those matches, and Scarlett found herself feeling the need to get back on the pitch and make sure the Catapults didn't suck for the rest of the season.

She stood straight, fixing her bag's strap over her shoulder. She loved Devon, the woman was one of very few that Scarlett could say that about, but when it came to all things feminine and girly, they were always at odds. Scarlett had sucked up the pain that would be induced from the shopping spree because she had missed her friend; with the busy season and now little Ella taking up so much time, Scarlett felt like she hadn't talked to Devon in months.

"You think so highly of me," she said with a teasing smile on her lips. "I haven't the faintest idea where there's a grocer nearby. The Chinese takeout bloke though, he's got my order down pact."

Devon snorted at the reply. "You know, if you weren't a professional athlete you'd be the size of a house, with the way you eat." She turned towards her, one of her hips resting against the display case Scarlett seemed so interested in. "If I have to be honest, I'm quite envious of your metabolism. I feel as though one piece of bread makes me fluctuate between pant sizes." She frowned, her hands now coming up in order to flatten down the fabric of the sundress she was wearing. She looked great, for someone who had given birth in February, but she had always been conscious of her appearance - always into the latest trends, and wearing the highest heels.

Letting out a sigh, she folded her arms over her chest, looking down at the pins before her attention returned to her friend.

"At the very least, assure me that the Chinese delivery man isn't the only member of the opposite sex who visits your flat." Her lips turned into a rather devious smirk, pushing away from the display case in order to bump her hip.

"Rude," Scarlett snipped, crossing her arms and turning down the aisle. She had no time for men, and no desire for them either. Her one and only stand this past New Year's had been something out of a fantasy and it had left her with pretty high expectations that she most certainly felt like couldn't be quelled. Scarlett chose to ignore the rumors that the fireworks at the event may have been jinxed, as she liked having one worry-free, magical night to herself.

At any rate, there was no room to be dating during the season, and she couldn't understand those women who could. She supposed marriage was one thing, because there wasn't that worry of keeping the other person interested anymore, but dating? There came all these---things. Things that she didn't have time for, or feel the need to stress herself out with.

"I don't have men coming traipsing in and out of my flat, no," she said in a vain attempt to cover up her lackluster love life. Scarlett picked at a Slytherin pennant hanging from the wall, running her fingers down the side, "And I don't have time for that sort of nonsense, I'm performing terribly as is."

Devon rolled her lips under in an attempt to hide the fact that she found her reaction a little amusing. She allowed her to walk away for a second before following after her, picking her her speed in order to walk beside her. Scarlett had always been the prude out of the two of them, seeing how Devon had always been very open about her sex life and didn't mind talking about it like her friend seemed to.

"Ever think that maybe if you relieved certain.... frustrations you may be able to play better?" She asked with a raise of her brows, turning to acknowledge the pendant for a moment before looking back to her. "I'm not saying you should be standing on street corners or anything, Scarlett, but I don't think it would kill your career to enjoy something other than Quidditch." Her tone was casual, finding nothing wrong with the conversation that was taking place. Truth be told she was a bit worried about her friend's nonexistant love life.

Scarlett's face burnt a deep red and her shoulders tightened. She would never admit it, but after her one (and only) night stand with the beautiful hitwizard, she had felt a lightness she'd never experienced before. Whether it was the romantic essence of the night or the physical part---Scarlett could never be sure.

But Devon saying that the relief of---frustrations might----help her play...better then...If Scarlett had feathers, she would be ruffling them right about now.

"Is that true?" she whispered quickly, quirking her head to the side and unable to look Devon in the eye. "Does it really---I mean to say---if you know someone I'd find suitable----"

If her face could get any hotter, she could boil a cauldron on her forehead.

Devon smirked again, noting the way her friend kept avoiding eye contact while they were talking this particular topic of conversation. "Well I highly doubt it could make matters any worse," she replied, finding it was the most honest answer she could give. There was no promising that she would definitely play better if she got laid, but Scarlett was wound like a damn top. She was so focused on her career, and while Devon admired her for that, she was under the impression that she didn't allow herself to focus on anything else. She needed something that would take her mind off of Quidditch for a little while.

When it came to finding someone who Scarlett would find suitable, Devon had to stop and think for a moment, her lips pursing together as she thought about all of the eligible bachelors she knew.

"Well, I know Rafe has a few friends who don't have a girl, but I'm pretty sure the single ones are single for a reason. Besides, I'm not quite sure they'd be your type anyway." She moved past the brunette in order to examine another piece of merchandise, still thinking things over. Finally, one man in particular stuck out in her mind, though she hesitated before bringing him up.

"I do know of one man you may be interested in..." She trailed off, and turned to give Scarlett her full attention. "He's one of Darren's best friends. You may have seen him at the wedding, though I do believe he had a witch on his arm at the time. His name is Grail."
