Waiting for the end to come, wishing I had strength to stand
[Chase couldn't remember the last time he had hurt this much properly, perhaps the last blow to the head by whatever that creature was had given him a concussion. It was the last thing he needed on top of two broken ribs and collarbone, the cuts all over his sprained (if not fractured) forearms leaving a clear trail of where he had been. Hopefully it wouldn't lead that thing toward his current location, his left leg was in no condition to run being practically torn apart like it was and leaving more blood.

Oh, yes. He probably was concussed, blood from a head injury he hadn't felt started to cloud his vision in his left eye. Chase lifted an arm to wipe it away and his balance overshot itself, he started leaning toward the wall and hit it hard enough with his shoulder to draw a grunt of pain from him. Luckily there was a bench there when his leg gave out though it hurt to sit, and he couldn't sit long. Chase had to get to the infirmary, had to get bandaged up to get Seren from daycare. But thoughts of Seren brought that young Kanda to mind.

Sorrow and failure blinded him from his physical pain for a moment, he had to go back in or send (several) someone(s) in his place to find the boy. He couldn't stay in that darkened, death-trap of a hallway and certainly not by himself!]

Damn it... [His head lightly hits the wall, throat sore from yelling.]

[Seeing how addicted Allen is probably wouldn't help that fear at all, Chase never saw the worst of it, did he? Nosing at him at the frustrated sound, though. It's okay. He's not going anywhere, will stay as close as he can right now.] Don't think they'll yell at me? [Throughout this whole thing, Allen has talked to the staff as little as he could possibly manage. Hates places like this, really, and he doesn't really want to be yelled at.]

[It wouldn't, but like with everything else that's happened between them Chase wouldn't force him to give it up. It's just one of those things about him, forcing someone he loves to do something that will make them unhappy isn't worth it. Even if he knows Allen will be better for it.] If'n they do, 'll yell back a'em. [He'll protect Allen from them, at least he goes in unlike Vampvi, so paranoid they'd want to do experiments on them that he avoided them.]

[He's a bit weaker in that regard than Lavi, huh? If he got back on them, it seems like Lavi'd be intent on getting him off of them again. Allen avoided them too at first though, but the need for blood bags lately has made him give that up, to a certain extent.

Allen glances back at the separator around the bed, before shifting a little bit on it; he kicks his shoes off so that they lands on the ground with a thud, and carefully crawls under the covers, putting his arm back around that spot on Chase's waist as he tucks in close again.]

[Just that he was forced to do so many things and he always hated it that Chase never saw a point in forcing anyone else old enough to make decisions for themselves do something they didn't want. If you're going to be stupid, you'd better be prepared to get hurt. Those decisions were lessons and it was up to them if they took the lessons as the way they were supposed to.

Chase noses at his temple once more and closes his eyes with a satisfied if shallow and pained sigh.]

	[Probably not a terrible outlook to have, hopefully Allen won't learn things the hard way. [Chase is too nice. But Allen would probably need someone if it got to that point.

Tilting his head enough that he catches Chase in a brief, chaste kiss, and when he pulls away it's only enough so that their lips brush together as he talks.] Want to. [And he settles his head down, closing his own eyes. He'd stay until it got too painful for Chase to have him there.]

	[It's part of him~ His hissing gets sleepy chuckles out of the redhead and nosings with mutterings of "It's fine, Allen" as he lets the nurses change his IVs and do a general check on his bandages for bleeding. [And of course, Allen loves it because of that. ♥

Growling when they check the bandages and hissing at every little wrong poke, though he leans into the nosing even as he glares at them. But he stays as close to Chase's side as he can throughout the whole thing, and hisses at the nurses one last time when they finally leave; thanks to his attitude, none of them linger for long.]

[He'd probably like a little PDA - but he understands why there isn't any, and it's not like Chase doesn't make up for it when it's just them. He'd never doubt that Chase cared because of a lack of PDA.

Hums a little at the kiss, though it falters and trails off into a displeased little noise. Though a slightly ashamed one. O-oh. He was, wasn't he? ...Oh.. akgjhgkj tucking his head down near Chase's jaw, his hair will probably tickle the Crow's cheek.] I do... sorry.

[Partially since you can hear it, the way he feels about Allen even when they're in public. The want to but always the hesitance to simply because of a fear of Allen being used against him or vice versa.

Awkwardly Chase noses at his head reassuringly, lifting his hand to brush his fingers against Allen's jaw.] They're no' gonna hurt me if'n they ken help it, ya know. [Really there are just amused noises from Chase.]

[Hearing it helps things a lot, he'd probably have to explain it to Lavi if his roommate ever asked. But he does know it, at least.

Humming softly at those fingers, ducking his head a little to press a kiss to the pad of one of them.] I know. [And logically, he does know it. That this is a place for getting better, that they want to help. But he thinks about it and all he can remember is his mother as the machines went from pulsing hills to flat lines.]

Chase keeps his hand up there, smiling as he continues to stroke Allen's skin.] 'll be better sooner thanks ta their proddin. [Chase's heartbeat is nice and strong now that he's got his blood levels back up to normal, amazing considering it's his second heart. The only problems that he might have that the machine might pick up is with his breathing thanks to his ribs and collarbone.]

[S-sob. Sorry. But if something happens, he doesn't want Lavi bugging Chase about not showing how much he cares enough, or something like that, when Allen knows damn well that he does.

Hum~ That feels so very nice for a sleepy little vampire.] I know. [The heartbeat is comforting, loud and strong and nearly healthy. But Allen still tenses and jumps a little at the slightest odd sound from those machines, they make him so nervous.]

[That he could deal with, it's the other things that he's seen other couples do that send him fleeing from it in a figurative sense. But it keeps them both safe in the long run.

Chase hums and closes his eyes, hand shifting back down over the one on his waist. He'll press a chaste kiss to Allen's face and then settles down. Sleepy, affectionate Allen is adorable though, Chase would't trade it for the world.]

[Allen probably wouldn't do most of that stuff anyway, too awkward for large amounts of PDA himself, honestly.

He starts humming Seren's lullaby again when Chase settles down, but it doesn't last long before it trails off sleepily and Allen drifts off; head resting near Chase's, breathing lightly even in his sleep for once. It might trail off at some point during the day. Sleep well, Chase.]
