"All set," she said as she fastened an earring. She greeted him with a smile. Anya was of course a few moments late. She blamed that on genetics as well. Mom and Dad were usually fashionably late for things.
"I'm thinking Big Nick's unless you have objections."
He gives her a once over look up and down, followed by a playful whistle. "Well worth waiting for. And... yeah, Big Nick's sounds great. That's your favorite spot, right?"
Anya blushed a little. "Not so bad yourself there handsome," she said. He did look good all cleaned up. Though he looked just as good earlier all sweaty from a workout.
"It is. There's something to be said for a place you know."
He blushes faintly. He was teasing - but its true, she was kind of cute. "I could see that, yeah. And it is good food. Yeah, we can hit there whenever. Who's driving?"
"Me. I love my baby, but I don't get to drive him much," she said. She did drive down from Boston instead of flying via suit. It was a change of pace and the fall foliage along the way was beautiful. It never hurt to slow down for a bit.
"Just no time to work on it?" she asked as they headed toward the garage. "I just converted by Tesla to zero point energy. No recharging and no running out of juice."
"Not a lot. And maybe its just I'm not an expert in cars. I got it as a fixer-upper project though, and its been... well, pretty much what you'd expect for $1500 worth of used car."
"Well if you want some help you can always call and I'll come down," she said. "It's not that long of a flight." Not when you can fly at Mach 8. "I'm always willing to help out a friend."
"I'm okay with them. I could work on mine because it's all electrical, but I'll help. I did manage to build my bike. My brother's the car nut. He even named his."
"I'm somehow not surprised. That sounds like you. And this one... is just your normal, basic car, run into the ground once, partly rebuilt and sold cheap, always something wrong... but it just keeps running as long as you keep up the nickle and dime projects. It'll do til I can afford something better."
They reached the garage and Anya opened the car door for /him/. He was a Rogers and she knew he would open doors and whatnot for her. It was genetic. "Well if you're going to be an Avenger, you'll get a stipend. That'll help with the repairs."
He can't help but chuckle a little at her reverse chivalry. "Why thank you, Miss Stark." he offers, heading into the garage and towards the car. "As for the stipend, that's part of the idea. Save up for a while, maybe get a motorcycle first."
"You're welcome Mr. Rogers," she said. "If you want, you can use my bike until you get one. It's just collecting dust and should be run once in awhile. Work has been keeping me away more and more."
He settles into the passenger side, eyeing the hood through the window as if unsure it was on. "Huh."
Her question brings him back to the conversation. "Working at Syd's Gym, doing clean up there takes up a lot of time, but I have boxing lessons and unlimited time in the gym for free, and a little salary besides. Getting ready for early graduation in December. That's about it. I live at Syd's when mom lets me."
"It was electric," she said with a smile. "Now it runs on zero point energy. We're developing the tech and who knows in a decade all cars will run on zpm."
"Looking at a Phyd. Ed. major, combined with Education... get my teacher's certificate so I can do some coaching or teach P.E., probably minor in history, if I ever needed a day job. Gives me an excuse to spend more time in the gym, meanwhile. And... nope, not currently. Dated a little here and there. Nothing serious. So who is the infamous lady Stark seeing, currently? I haven't kept up on the tabloids."
"Well according the tabloids I'm seeing about three different people. It depends on which one you read or what website you visit. In truth I'm not seeing anyone. Too busy I guess." She shrugged. "You know us workaholics."
