INK MOON
No, that's not a BPAL blend (although wouldn't it be nice if it was?), I have a new tattoo! Or to be technical, five small ones. I now have the phases of the moon on the fingers of my right hand! Full on my middle finger, half on the ring and index fingers, crescent on the pinky and thumb. It looks kickass and I really need a digital camera so I can take a picture of it. It was half on a whim... I'd considered it before but I wasn't planning on getting tattooed today. But I was bummed out that the comics store in the Dobie Mall didn't have the manga I was looking for (I'm really gonna have to bite the bullet and order from Amazon cuz it doesn't look like I'm gonna get instant gratification here... I might try hitting up Borders and Barnes & Noble if I am feeling brave enough to venture that far from home), and I've been feeling so shitty lately and Electric 13 Tattoo was right there...

So I went in, and talked to a nice fellow named Paco about what I wanted and got a price quote. So I trundled over to the ATM for funds and to McD's for a cheeseburger and a Coke while he set up the template. Feeling fortified, I headed back, and chatted as he set up & we did the paperwork and stuff.

The actual tattooing part went very smoothly! It wasn't as tricky as I'd feared to position my fingers to be inked (the thumb was a trifle awkward though). Painwise, it was not terrible. A little wincing and lip-biting, but nothing agonizing, and no faintness due to the protein and sugar beforehand; we were able to keep up conversation easily the whole time.

I wasn't wearing a watch so I don't know how long it took. One of the things I talked to Paco about is my planned feather quill pen tattoo, and I'll probably go back to him for it. I'm very happy with how the moons came out.

After tattooage, I got the bubble tea (almond milk tea w/ pearls at Coco's, to be thorough) I'd been craving. So good! And I had good bus timing on the way home. I know it won't last, but I'm on a nice endorphin buzz right now. I wish it was feasible to get a tattoo whenever I felt the need for a lift, but it'd be prohibitively expensive and I'd run out of skin.

I really do need a digital camera so I can show off this new acquisition.
