I guess it was a rather silly question, though you don't often talk about your friends. Have you known her long? You obviously care about her of you feel bad she can't go to New York.

That's certainly unfortunate; I can understand how that'd make it difficult for her to attend. Some people would do just about anything to get their hands on tickets to the World Cup.

While your friend may not be able to go to New York, it'll give you excellent conversation material for when you return. Perhaps you could think about taking some photographs, in case words escape you and you'd like to share your experiences. She could see what she was only able to hear on the wireless through you.
