The three little children had watched their parents killed by demons and while Grace, the youngest, was so small she wasn't aware of what had happened, her brother Michael and sister Claire did. They weren't doing so well in foster care as a result. The whole situation broke Tina's heart. She'd been there when the Sons responded to the demon attack, had held the little ones at her side while Lynch and the others dealt with the carnage and at first she'd agreed that the kids were better off with a new family completely removed from anything involving the night they lost their parents.

But six months later she still had sleepless nights over those kids and an idea began to form. She and Matt had had trouble trying to have their own children. They'd both had such rough childhoods themselves...

Grace, Michael, and Claire Walker may not have come from their parents' bodies but they were very much their children. Claire was the stubborn one with a natural affinity for magic and trouble. Michael loved cars and machines and Grace was somewhere in between.

Whisper was the happiest hellhound in the world.
