Homework really sucks.

Henry nods in agreement. "We're a team. But here, now... we're not considered adults. At least, I'm not; not until October. Josh won't be for almost a year more than me." He puts his arm around Avalon. "Don't worry. We'll stick together."
Avalon can't help but smile and lets himself be pulled in towards Henry. He nuzzles his face into the crook of Henry's throat and then sighs out a deep breath.
"It's more than just being a team, Henry. This is my family." he says softly.
Henry nods, letting Ava nuzzle. "All my family has been adopted, Ava. You three are... I don't understand how you've become to important to me so quickly, but you are."
"Mmm.. I think that you should stop thinking about yourself that way, Henry." Avalon then says softly as he lifts his head up, looking into Henry's face. "If I remember the story of how your father found you correctly, then you've been drawing the right people to you from day one." he says. "Like energies attract others. Some people are born with huge families. Others have acquired family."
"And you do not need to understand, I know that I do not. But I trust the universe and all it's wisdom that brought us together." he then says.
"Maybe," Henry says, a slight blush to his cheek. "I just know I'm glad the three of you are all here."
Avalon just smiles as he raises a hand up, his fingertips stroking over Henry's pink skin. "Me too." Avalon then says with warmth in his voice. "All is well now and will be well later. Our life will be good - this I know. There will be hardships and tough decisions and sorrow.. but there will also be joy and laughter and affection."
Henry nods. "Well, yeah... that's life, isn't it?"
"Yes. But.. it's good to remind yourself every once in a while." replies Avalon with a wink.
He leans in for a kiss, satisfied that his father is back upstairs.
"Good reminder," he murmurs.
Avalon mms softly, basking in the warm glow of their little shared moment. The kiss is a quick thing, a sharing of affection that leaves Avalon feeling warm and tingly all over.
"That is why I greet the sun every day, Henry." he then says softly, his tone gentle. "When I was locked in the mines, it burned that I was forced into darkness. My hope that I would see the sun again is part of what got me through."
Henry lets his ring glow a little.
"Well... when there's no sun... let me help be your light."
"That was then.. and this is now.." agrees Avalon. It's hard to keep from wrapping himself around Henry completely, so in the interest of respecting dad, he just nuzzles at Henry's shoulder once more.
"You are indeed my light.." he then muses softly.
"And you and Josh and Kat can be mine," he replies.
Chuckling softly, Avalon raises his hand up, pressing his palm to Henry's chest once more. "I am willing to be anything you need, Henry." his head raises a bit, looking into Henry's eyes. "There is much life ahead of us, and I can not think of anyone I want to spend what time I have with anyone but this family."
"You've certainly been a lot of things I've needed," Henry mutters quietly, half with a wink, but then he sobers. "Seriously, Avalon... I'm not sure what I'd do without you. You've really been there for me."
"I do my best." replies Avalon with a bright smile. He then can't help but give Henry a rather smirking look then as he says "you have done much for me as well. You put up with my bad English and misunderstandings, and show patience towards me. You honor my stance on important matters and your trust has never wavered.." He thinks over his words for a moment, then says "We.. interlock.. I think is the word."
Henry raises his eyebrows. "Who shows patience for who, Ava?" He smirks. "But... yeah. I trust you. At first, it was because it was part of the job, but now... I really do trust you. With anything." He gives a little smirk. "And 'interlocking' is a good word."
Laughing softly, Avalon just smiles brightly to Henry, then shrugs his shoulders as he says softly "Yes, but hasn't the patience worked out well for us?"
He can't quite help it anymore, and slides his arms around Henry, lightly holding the other teen as he leans in towards him and heaves out a sigh. "You will make sexual innuendo over anything, Henry." he then says in an amused tone. "At this point, I'd think something was wrong if you didn't."
Henry just grins. "I have no excuse. I just can't help it. I'm pretty much constantly thinking about it. It comes out."
"It must be terrible, being you." Ava teases, his smile still bright. "All that extra energy, just languishing around, waiting to be expelled. Poor, poor Henry."
Unable to keep from it, he pokes at Henry's side in a tickling manner, then ducks away before the other teen can retaliate
Henry jumps from the tickle and gives chase.
"Get back here!" |
