I know. For...for what it's worth, I was trying to tell you that I hate what they've done, Ced, I do and I can't stand to lose you, I don't want to make a nice break or any break at all, only Mother has made it abundantly clear that if I say another word about the matter...and I'm not like you, Ced, even if I had somewhere to go I couldn't do it. I'm not brave enough like you are. And it's my family.

Maybe once I'm married, Ced, maybe then it'll be safe for me to not pretend I agree with them about this. They're going to marry me off to a nobody anyway, so it won't matter then, nobody will care what I think anymore.

They do now. Once they've safely changed my surname, what I think won't reflect on them anymore, will it? So no one will disown me for wanting to be your sister once I'm no longer quite a Black either.

They're not taking any chances with us, Ced. Me and Charis. I suspect the only reason they haven't picked one for her yet is that she's not seventeen. Or maybe it's my own fault for...for saying what I did to mother. At any rate they want it done quickly and the Malfoys wouldn't have me now.

	The Malfoys are rubbish anyway, Callidora, you wouldn't be happy with the likes of Abraxas. All he would care about is how many children you can give him, and that's a sure recipe for an unhappy life. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

I always thought it would be Abraxas, though. And now- Harfang Longbottom, of all people, he's a Hufflepuff! A Longbottom Hufflepuff! He stutters, Ced, he really does, I had rounds with him and he talked about zoos and he stuttered while he did it and they're poor, Ced, and if they go through with it

It's just so unfair. I haven't done anything and now I'm to be married off at the first moment, and they've not even asked if I mind him, Mother always promised me if I was a good girl she'd make sure it was someone I liked.

	We had dragonpox when we were little. I gave you it. But good on you for looking at the bright side of it! I'm sure Harfang is lovely; I don't really remember speaking with him, other than at prefect meetings, but he was perfectly kind. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Kind. Yes. He does seem perfectly kind. Only I can't imagine being friends with him, much less...you know. His manners are fine, but he's so...he's inelegant, Ced, he's so bourgeois!

I don't even know him. We grew up with Abraxas, and the Lestrange boys, and all of that sort. I don't know him at all.

Maybe they'll calm down and change their minds if I just don't argue anymore.
