Happy Birthday Foxy (blood-free version)
Tonight was a strictly non-business night. And he was for all intents and purposes going to pretend this was March 20th and not...over a month later. So while he may be dressed in an all black suit and shirt with a red tie and a classic domino mask that was just Robin enough for her to see it, but not enough for a too obvious connection for anyone else, he was certainly not really "Robin". That would mean there was some aspect of the crimefighting in there. And tonight that was off the table. This was about as close as to the real him as he could get, that odd mix between Thomas and Robin that never appeared if he was worried about fighting crime or people not finding out he was Robin.

About a week ago he'd broken into one of her safehouses and left a note about the party they were going to hijack for her birthday.

Because if you were going to crash a party discretely you had to do it with style.

And for the two of them? That meant a masquerade party was the way to go.

A few hours later, Thomas slowly wakes up, his senses telling him he's in a foreign bed. It takes a moment but soon he realizes where he is and glances at a clock. Past 4am. Damn, time to sneak home.

He briefly considers waking Sarah up to say good night, but she looked so happy and peaceful there that he couldn't bring himself to do it. Instead he carefully untangles himself from her and quietly gets dressed before disappearing back to the manor.

In the morning she'll find a small crystal figurine of a fox curled up and asleep in a meadow. Underneath is a birthday note signed with a scrawled R with the address (but not the combination) of a safe somewhere in the city. He'd left the last part of his gift there because he didn't consider it one. Inside she'll find a picture of what look like medical notes on a patient, dated about a week before her birthday. His proof for her that the Fox was still alive.

At some point? She will pounce him. Just because that was the best thing he could have gotten her.
