are you scening, anon? you could try to indicate the direction you want the line to go in by putting it in the non-dialogue parts of the thread, for example "dudeman knew that he wasn't in it for the long haul with chicklady. she was just someone to flirt with and he didn't know why but he enjoyed messing with her head and making her think that he liked her" or something like that. that way you can introduce the idea of the sl and if the writer isn't okay with it, their character can react accordingly.
