however i don't think interaction necessarily equals storylines

i agree with this, as well, but i do think that that's what bitchy anon was getting at and it isn't untrue.

bitchy anon is coming off to me as someone who wants rp to be served to them, and while it's easier to get interaction when your character is funny (i mean, who the hell wants to talk to debbie downer anyway?) i can clearly see why they're not getting interaction since they come off as really entitled and whiny

yeah it really does though. if you talk to people, they talk to you. it's magic.

how the hell is that a storyline? the "story" of my life has nothing to do with the people i just talk to on a daily basis. the "story" of my life is the major connections

so what is it exactly that you want from people? if you want exes or old friends then you should have set them up beforehand. if you want new friends, you work for them. it's just the same thing as real life.

what i'm trying to say is, i know from experience in other games, it's fucking hard to be the people who comment everyone and basically carry a lot of interaction with the rest of the community because in the long run you don't get serious storylines because if you focus on something with a select few people suddenly you're cliquey because people pay attention to you

and i'm saying i've never found that to be the case at all, in any game. oh well.

then you've probably never played one of those characters

and you had serious storylines?

yes i had quite a few. good friends, a family member, an ex, etc. it all came from interacting with people already in the game and from setting up things beforehand.
