oh, absolutely. his parents have always been pretty supportive of his interest in performing arts, but they're both academics - they value book smarts over nearly everything else. it's part of why josh is so close to his sister, because margo (although she always worked harder in school) was all about sports and athletics and could relate to his different priorities. if all three kids had been like chris (hard-working academically, academic-minded extracurriculars like debate team and academic decathlon) i think things would have been very different.

i think his parents definitely would have disapproved of his career choice if he'd been a more disciplined student. they would have seen it as a waste of his talents. as it is, they're pushing him to go back to school at least part-time to earn a degree in case his luck runs out in hollywood. not that that isn't on his mind, but right now he feels like he's doing pretty well and would rather strike while the iron's hot.

	so i watched the 30 minutes or less trailer this morning and i was like OMG I LOVE JOSH NASIB SO MUCH. thankfully no one was around to hear me say that. anyway, in that case, what would he have done? continue with his dream and "disapppoint" his parents or gone into something that he wouldn't have made him as happy, but kept mom and dad smiling? 30 MINUTES OR LESS LOOKS SO GOOD ANON, i am so unbelievably excited! and it's kind of an action movie, so josh is excited too.

i think in that case, he might have gotten his b.a. to please his parents, but then gone into auditions. i don't think he would spend his whole life in a job he hated just to please them, and i think that although his parents would be disappointed, it wouldn't be in a way that would end their relationship. does that make sense?
