	what's the opinion/general consensus on using a pb whose ethnicity is different than the credit claim's? are there different views depending if it's acting vs. music credits? i have an idea for karen o/yeah yeah yeahs but i'm not sure... (Reply to this)(Thread)

i play a poc with some roles that were originally played by white actresses, and people have expressed in here that they're fine with it as long as the ethnicity of the character isn't pivotal to the plot of the movie or show. as for music credits, i think it's okay too! i mean obviously there are instances where it wouldn't work, again like if the musician often makes reference to his or her ethnicity in lyrics but otherwise i don't think it's a problem.

	like... i think it's okay as long as yu don't use say eminem with jay z credits just because of the lyrics, or if you put your character in a role that's specifically made to be a specific ethnicity. i feel like (and probably am) i'm echoing what the above person stated. however, i don't think it'd be a big deal using karen o with a different ethnicity pb!
