i graduated with a history degree, have mostly education-related (tutoring, instructional aide in every k-12 level ever) work experience, now i'm going back to community college for accounting certificate... and the job is for an office clerk at a local middle school. it's a complete mish-mosh, haha. tbh the only people i know who are successfully finding jobs are nurses and fully-credentialed teachers. :( what about you, anon?

this is history-major anon and i think it depends on what to do with it. if you're planning on continuing with academia and get a ma/phd to become a professor/researcher, there's actually a lot of opportunities because most undergrad history majors don't go that far. if you DON'T plan on going on that far, having a ba could also be a good pathway for teaching k-12 (which is what i WAS gonna do but i left my credential program for personal reasons) or even law/business school.

and as an add-on, yeah, basically if you're continuing your undergrad degree, it's important to just start considering what sort of path you want to go on. 90% of other history majors i know did/are doing some form of grad/professional school. the other 10% just got lucky enough to be hired by nonprofits/the university itself to do program directorial/student advisor/desk top-type things.
