no matter what you feel about the post can we not bash ~tracey as a writer? i didn't like the entry at all and found it to be offensive, but i don't think we should lead a witch hunt or make her feel awkward/unwelcome because of it. i think it is just as tactless to go beyond discussing it to actively bashing on the girl.

i agree and i could see some people saying things about the writer kind of in the other comments that made me want to leave that page

i really don't get the bashing at all. just because maybe those people aren't capable of separating their ooc feelings from their ic reactions doesn't mean other people can't, way to project.

wow, now who's the one doing the bashing? i can separate my feelings and my char didn't comment the post but unless the writer is cormac mccarthy i doubt they can write something that's so offensive yet thinking it isn't

excuse you, i personally know how to separate my ooc feelings from my ic and you shouldn't doubt the talents of someone you're playing with. that's just rude

no you don't get to call someone ignorant and essentially say they're a bad writer and then get to play the victim of "bashing". just because maybe you don't think someone in rp can write that, doesn't mean people can't. i know plenty of rpers who are perfectly capable of writing points of view and situations that don't mimic their real lives.

just because you would have a hard time separating ic and ooc in a situation like that, doesn't mean someone else wouldn't

i'm starting to question if i should do certain storylines if someone is going to say that writer must be ignorant for that post. like i'm legit mad now

tbh i might think that TRACEY is the "poor little white girl from liberal arts colleges who knows everything because of one african-american course," but i'd never, EVER think that tracey's WRITER is someone like that.

op of that comment and that's what i was referring to - the character, not the writer. sorry if that wasn't clear.

i thought that might be what you meant, anon! and that other people might have twisted your words or assumed you meant the writer, OR other people started bashing the writer, which is really unfortunate and uncalled for.

no, absolutely. just to smooth over any edges, this is ~nasib and while the post upset both me and him since i am a poc playing a poc, i definitely recognize that i have no right to judge ~tracey's writer because of a backhanded, clumsy post that the character posted!

i don't think the writer or the character intended the post to backfire in such an ugly way but i would never presume that the writer shares her character's education level on these issues

i know everyone is doing questions time rn and i don't wanna make a new comment and interrupt that so i just wanna say that i feel like if it was one of the popular guys making that post, everyone would have giggled and loved it.

maybe, maybe not, but my character would have still said the same thing.

yeah, no. i still would have found it massively offensive and still would have kept my char quiet for fear of line crossing.

i know who plays tracey and they are definitely, definitely, definitely not the sort of rper who actually thinks or believes any of what they wrote ooc. better luck next time, person or people bashing that player.
