yup, and if they are successful in both it's a moderate success at best. i think jackson rathbone has it about as good as it gets when it comes to crossing over your careers: a fairly small music project and supporting film roles. there are exceptions, like disney girls are a different story because they're worked to the bone in order to be singing/dancing/acting triple threats. but in general, yeah ia with you.

ita! most people don't know that jackson has a band so even though he is a musician/actor, most people would just think of him as an actor. and i think disney girls are the exception but mostly because disney likes to get triple threats so they can make $.

i mean the credits where they have iconic music credits and acting ones. think of mandy moore, she does music but she's probably more known for her movies. or beyonce who has also done film but is more known as a musician.

yes! and with the mandy moore example, she spaces her projects out so that she has time for everything. she didn't do any movies between 2007 and 2010 so she could make the time to release amanda leigh in 2009. there's only so much time in a person's schedule.

plus as much as i love mandy (and i do, i'm a huge fan) her records don't tend to do very well. i mean some people don't even know she still makes music. now if she had britney or christina's careers she would have had less time to make movies.

exactly. yeah. i wouldn't mind seeing an actor/musician though who had the musical credits of like...a really awful band that gets no radio play and has never really toured...but...idk who that would be off the top of my head. just something like the keanu reeves route where you always hear about their band/music career but then you look up the band and you're like ..........oic

yes! people who are critically acclaimed in music are rarely acclaimed in acting and vice versa.

they're called dogstar and they are pretty lulzy. like the kind of band someone who karaokes to staind and nickelback puts together.
