being a southerner i've noticed that i spell a lot of words differently than my friends. pronunciation seems obvious since we say "ant" versus the elongated "aunt". however i tend to notice a lot when people in rp are playing southerners even though they themselves are not from there. it doesn't bother me so much as it's just an observation. like my facebook is full of people from all over the southeast region and it's always "momma and daddy" whereas my yankee friends type "mama".

as another southern anon (REPRESENT IT DARLIN), i have honestly never noticed any of that. i mean i know i say things weird, but i didn't think of it that way.

i'm from the southeast and i play a southerner, i've always spelled it as "mama" instead of "momma" and it's also the way my guy spells it - i think things like that depend on the area, tbh.

maybe. when i went to college we were from all over the general vicinity: florida, georgia, mississippi, tennessee, and north carolina mostly though so it could be. it's just something i noticed.

ah my best friend is from greenville/spartanburg. i love it over there, but that's the tn border really so yeah.

i know i say plenty of words funny, but i think it also comes through my character sometimes with the way i type things. i end up feeling bad for it
