the trick is not to beat yourself up if you slip into past tense in the middle. just resume writing in present tense anytime you catch yourself and then go back after the fact and change anything that doesn't fit.

oh i actually don't usually have an issue with slipping between tenses when i'm writing. that's never a problem, it's just finding the right flow for what i want to say
