i hate photoshop, but i have a question. for those of you who use it, how exactly do you make your icons? mine always end up blurry.

i make a separate image that's 100x100 and then clone the area i want into the new image after resizing the original image that i'm iconing.

i crop it to 100x100, duplicate, sharpen the bottom layer and save

i always do a sharpen edges layer if my icons are blurry, and then play with the opacity until it looks okay

i crop it to 100x100, apply a curves layer, flatten it. duplicate the layer, add gaussian blur of 1, change the blending layer to darken and the opacity to about 30%, then flatten again and voila!
