please can you keep things the way they are instead of fucking around with activities? i like the hands off approach the old mods took. a bunch of activities and too-involved mods tend to take away from the point of rp, which is to scene and comment.

activities promote interaction, interaction promotes commenting out of activities, commenting promotes scening. nothing wrong with helping the less outgoing people get out there and make new contacts. the game is boring when it's riding solely on characters being responsible for activity because not everyone is going to run out there and make posts to interact in. if you don't like it, don't do it.

it's not my fault some people don't get that they are responsible for their own enjoyment of a game.

not oc, but why should it be the job of members who are already active to get other people to be active? the reason i hate things like the long tedious awards ballot that i still haven't finished after working on it for 3 days is that i am already active. i have scenes to reply to and customs to watch and updates to plan. i don't have the time to try to hand hold other people.

if you don't like it don't participate

how do we know it'll be opt-in?

i'm pretty sure the mod isn't going to force you to participate if you don't want to

if it's opt out, i'm not going to be the member who comments to say no and then get slapped with the cliquey and unfriendly labels.

anon, i think you need to bitch more. there's not enough bitching going on right now.

politely explaining why i think that opt-out game wide activities are a bad idea is bitching? really?

you haven't even heard the idea and you are complaining, so yes, you are bitching.

i don't have to hear the idea to know that if it's opt-out, it's a bad idea.

how do you know it's going to be opt-out? it could be opt-in.

i have no issues with it if it's opt-in. that way i can carry on and let the members who need hand holding be hand held.

i don't understand how a community activity means people are having their hands held but okay, anon.

if it's opt out then don't opt out, but ignore it the way i'm doing with the awards. you don't get the butthurt bitch label and you don't have to participate. best of both worlds

Lucky for you the activity involves commenting. And don't worry if the trial run doesn't go well then I won't go forward with it. It was just something I'd seen brought up a lot here in anons so I figured I would try it.
