i like how an activity where they clearly asked for volunteers has all these people running around worried that the mod is holding a gun to people.

the volunteers are for a trial run. i am nervous that the actual activity will be opt-out or mandatory, taking away from time i could be spending actually rping.

i have a feeling it will be opt in, anon. in a game this size, opt out seems impractical for most things and mandatory seems fascist. either way, corralling 150-200 characters seems like extra work.

well we did get awards, but the same people who were crying about not getting them are now crying that they don't want to fill out the ballot

anons pretty much pounced on bitching about them from the second they were posted, too.

people always whine for awards and then they always whine about them afterwards. awards are just a no win situation.

i hope they do more activities tbqh. i wish i could come up with reasons for my character to randomly interact with more people, but that's hard sometimes and i think that comm-wide activities will help my character in branching out more.

have them comment someone's mixalots or offcam post or their entry?

i try! i've just found it hard for them to develop a back and forth over time doing that when there's no background for a line. ie they've never met, would have had no reason to, aren't co-stars, etc.

anon, almost none of the people my character now talks to on a regular basis are people i developed lines with when i came in/that she shares credits with. it took some time for them to go from acquaintances to "friends" but if you regularly engage someone your character has chemistry with, it'll happen!

oh i'm in the same boat in that most of my lines my character has now are organic, it's just that most of them developed right when i joined, and that i'm finding it harder to get organic lines in the same way as i am a member for longer. ty for the encouragement though!

you don't need a reason to interact beyond being in an rp community together. that's what this is about. unless you're playing a character so antisocial they'll only talk to people they already know through your preplanned sls, there's no reason not to comment characters' posts.

they do comment people. i'm talking about that i'm having issues jumping from talking in a few posts to scenes.

and the people who participate need hand holding and coddling. because the people we've seen volunteer aren't really active or anything.

i sort of agree with the oc, because i like mods to be laid back and just take care of administrative stuff. i'm not much for activities and stuff. but on the other hand, i know i'm the minority in rp these days. so you learn to deal.
