i was at priceline briefly and everyone was really nice, but i just found it hard to live for some reason i can't put my thumb on.

no, i totally know what you mean, i had the same feeling when i was there. it might also be because the main group of people who are there had been there forever, and it's just tough to penetrate that even when they are nice

exactly! i really wanted to go to ~screen or ~identity, but a lot of people have told me they are all really overdramatic, so i've sort of steered away from it. i was at ~kudz for the longest but i left sometime in may and it finally closed and turned into ~apps, but that died, as well.

~screen was kind to me when i was there, mostly because i stayed the hell away from drama, ic or ooc. and, well, i guess it also helped that i played a dude, haha. i think i tried ~kudz once and didn't really live, i can't believe it closed, though. i swear that would've been one of those comms that just never dies.

i remember when it opened, people were literally fighting for a spot in that community. but even before i left in may, it wasn't that great. the friends page just wasn't moving very quickly and more people were concerned with shit talking in anons and making things miserable for others. unfortunately, i was a target in that and it was awful. i even tried to give ~apps another chance but they declined me when i challenged so, oh well! i'm so hesitant to join celeb comms anymore these days, though.

i wonder why it is that celeb rp succumbs to anons so much easier than pb rp. maybe because people are playing the same characters, essentially, just with different interpretations, so people want to be the ~best~, consciously or otherwise. there really is a preoccupation with ooc drama in celeb rp, and that's really the main downside for me.

i think people seem to take the term "blurring" a lot more seriously? in pb, it's commonly accepted that bits of your own personality will shine through your character, no matter how much thought or development you put in. it's bound to happen. in celeb, i've learned a big factor is sadly who finds the rarest pictures for icons and who knows more information, and even if you are the best writer and you give the celeb your own personal take on it, people are still unsatisfied. i have two slps who will say i'm great at so and so and they'll never want another so and so again, but yet i've had 3 friends in games replace me with the same person as a best friend in other communities and stop talking to me all together. it's strange, i can't quite figure out why celeb is that way? i have one great celeb psl that i've had since 2009, and although we have our ups and downs ooc it never affects them ic and i adore that about my slp so much. she is truly incredible at grasping her celeb so it's a pleasure writing with her, but i find that it's rarer to find that in celeb. also, a lot of it sadly involves cockhopping and since i only play guys i fall victim to that often.

i definitely agree with that, too. i always wondered just how big the server is, and if there's really a distinctive group of pb rp'ers, and celeb rp'ers, because the people seem so different in terms of how they interact and their takes on rp'ing... but i'm sure a lot of people do both, so it makes no sense. and there's just a higher tolerance for ic drama in pb, almost as if pb writers really can keep the line separate. whenever ic drama starts up, someone will inevitably break into ooc and be like, "omg i hope you're okay with this!! please know that i don't hate you and you're awesome!!" and i'm just like, ..yes, i know you don't hate me.
