it helped me learn to pronounce some of the names though because wow, the spellings.

right? the thing that's getting me now is all the families and how they relate to one another. i get the whole stark/baratheon/lannister/targaryen mess but everything beyond that is kind of making my head spin.

the flow chart suggestion was me being facetious and then you just appear with one. MAGICAL.

i mean, it's not exactly a flow chart but it's basically the handy dandy guide to the characters you should care about in the first book, haha. I HAVE POWERS.

it's fine, rofl. it's a little confusing to stare at for the first time, but it helps!

you have my support. i ended up confusing two characters and for a while the story did not make sense to me at all. i ended checking wikipedia to read character bios because just a name does not do the trick.

i have a feeling the confusion is only going to get worse from here on out but everyone always raves about these books and i hate missing out on stuff like this. i will be bookmarking the got wiki page now, that's an awesome idea. thanks!

hahaha once they start gathering people from the kingdoms it's just hell, but the series is truly amazing so it's worth it. and anything to help!

I find that if I take breaks, it's harder to get back into it and remember things so I've been trying to read some everyday and it's been working so far but at the same time, Storm of Swords is so flipping long, I feel like I'm never going to finish it.
