December 9th, 1997 - Tuesday - During Breakfast

I'm still mildly depressed I didn't get the apprenticeship. ~~Fucking MacDougal~~ That means I have to go home for the hols. It's not that I don't like my family - it's just....Yule's always been stressful since I started Hogwarts. The social functions are killer and the lying gets more and more complicated the closer I get to finishing school. The "Where are you going to University?" question is bound to be persistent....even more so than it was over the summer.

It's a real pain in the arse.

I'm tempted to just tell my parents I got the apprenticeship and stay at Hogwarts. Probably shouldn't though. I have to get out of this damn castle, anyway. A change of scenery will be nice.

I'm going to stop sulking.

Germany's great. I've been a few times. It's doubly amazing when you're not with family. Ha. Perhaps one of these days we can all go and have a pint or seven. Get that ticked off your list a.s.a.p!

But the reunion should be fun.... maybe? Family reunions tend to be a mixture of annoyance and joy all at once. In the end it's just exhausting if you ask me. ~~Fleur's bloody fit though~~ I can only imagine the incessant chatter of the new addition though. Poor you.

I think I will be taking you up on that--us, kicking around Berlin, getting nice and pissed and then finding some leiderhosen, just to keep it real.

Oh, I love my family, you know that, but--yes, it's a lot, plus we have members of the Order come...Lupin and his wife and their new baby...Harry's there ~~I hope~~, Hermione visits...it's like a circus. On top of that, my mum has been desperate for grandchildren since Charlie matriculated Hogwarts, so if Fleur really is with en enfante, she might have an aneurysm of delight.

And Fleur...is a special one. You should see her bathing ritual. Merlin's knickers.

It must be some veela thing. It's so obnoxious--she has to put on this lotion and that creme before getting in the special scented water, and she has to scrub and loofa--whatever that means--and then after she gets out, more lotions and creams perfumes and a special little towel to dry off. And trust me, she had my room during one visit and I knocked, to get a jumper? And there was bloody Fleur with that tiny towel, claming she was "covered up." I was all, Are you kidding me? I'm not one of the bloody males in the house, I am not seduced by you, put on some clothes.

She's very very nice, and she treats Bill wonderfully, but--gah!
