"Now you see me," Cassidy tossed a blond strand of hair from his eyes, not taking his gaze off of the large man in front of him. The young teen could feel the brute's stare of confusion and anger as he gripped the steel crowbar between his meaty hands. "now you dont."

On his own words, Cassidy willed his molecules apart. The feeling was like a sudden splash of cold water taking over him- and instantly he was invisible. Taking the thug's utter disbelief that a boy just vanished into vapor as a window, Cassidy floated behind him and pulled himself back into a solid mass. Unseen, he grabbed the man by the shoulder and whipped him around and followed suit with a heavy punch to his face.

The thug was so surprised by the attack, he dropped the crowbar. Eyes wide, he turned his face to look at Cassidy. Blood started to spill from his nose, it was the same crimson color as the mask adorning Cassidy's face.

Cassidy smiled. "What's the matter? You look like you've seen a ghost." He knew he shouldn't be wisecracking. He really shouldn't have been up on the rooftop of an old toy factory in the first place- but he was. Nothing could change that now, right? Nothing could stop him from taking out the first three thugs, and nothing could stop him from taking out the last one. "I don't think I need to tell you that breaking into and stealing from a doll factory is wrong, do I?"

The thugs had been mistaken in thinking the place was empty.

Mom had said Cindy could help with the audit of the toy factory as long as it wasn't a school night and she had a chauffeur. She definitely wasn't supposed to be out this late, but Mom.... wouldn't notice, really. And Cindy was very caught up in the audit. Goodness, it was terribly late when she heard the commotion on the roof.

Commotion on on the roof, at night, on a Gotham factory. And the short, stubby girl was going up the stairs to open the door right into it. To most eyes, it would look like suicide.

"I beg your pardon, please STOP!" She says upon seeing the people and bodies on the roof." Anyone without bizarrely strong mental resistance would be frozen in their tracks for a moment. One way to stay safe in Gotham.

Huntress was out on her nightly patrol and a few rooftops away when the commotion started. She didn't move and blended in with the shadows. For now she would watch.

"AH!" Cassidy goes momentarily molecular as the surprise of hearing the girl's voice. He quickly clears his throat and pulls himself together and turns to her.

"Um.." He gives her a slightly helpless look. "Don't uh.. don't worry ma'am. These jerks were breaking in. I was just... stopping them?"

He really needed to work on his hero talk if he was going to be doing this more often.

"Please stay right there, sir," Cindy repeats for the big hulking guy while the one in the mask sputters. The big hulking guy seems more a threat, after all. She continues and continues to Ask Nicely until he's standing there with his hands out as she gets closer, pull off her built, and ties his hands with it it in the best knot she was able to master of the ones Avia showed her. Here's hoping the guy wasn't good at getting out of knots, she figured. Cindy knew she was /no/ Avia.

Cindy had to take a moment to catch her breath now. Gosh, she was thirsty after all those polite requests. "So... Just breaking into the biz? Are they all unconscious?" she asked.

Huntress decided to come out of the shadows and make her way over to the other roof. If there were other capes operating in Gotham, she needed to know.

"Is there a party and I wasn't invited?"

He nodded as the girl tied up the thug. Who knew asking politely would work better than phasing in and out of tangibility to scare the pants off of the guy. "Yeah, uh..." He pushed the hair out of his face and behind his ear. "They're down for the count."

When Huntress arrived, he blushed hard. Was there a beacon around that informed them of a new people on the beat. "I just kind of found them." He replied, voice a little small. "But they didn't get in. I can't imagine why they would want to, though. It's just a toy factory... unless Furbies are all the rage again."

"Hey, this factory does good business and uses top-line equipment," Cindy tells the guy. "It's perfectly worth burglarizing." She looks to the apparent Huntress. There was a new Huntress now? So much going on it was hard to keep track. "I'm just trying to run some financials before my mother pays her taxes on the place, and heard the commotion."

Huntress started putting batcuffs on the ones that were unconscious. No reason to let them wake up and get the drop on them.

"Some people will steal anything," she said. "But you didn't do a bad job here. Both of you."

Cassidy couldn't help but develop the smallest hint of a smile. "Thanks." He said, giving the girl an appreciative nod. "Pardon my inexperience, but what do we do now? Call the police? Leave them in a compromising position in front of the GCPD? Interrogate them?"

He looked from the girl to Huntress. Was this really happening? Was he working with more heroes in the city? Did this officially make him a hero? He /really/ needed to work on his hero talk.

"Thanks," she says to Huntress. Then, to the boy, "I can call, unless Huntress wants to take them or something." A little sigh. "I also need to talk to my mother about getting her money's worth from her security investments."

"The police need to take them," she said. She nodded to Cindy. "That'd be helpful."

"Well, awesome." Cassidy said. He scratched his head lightly, eyes falling onto the thugs. He wasn't entirely sure what to do now. "Thanks for the assist, by the way. How did you talk him down so fast? I vanished into thin air in front of him and all it did was make him wet his pants." The teen asked, turning to the girl.

"That wasn't talking down," Cindy says cheerfully. "That was hypnosis." And she makes the call to the police -- name-dropping to make sure they get there quick.

Maria kept quiet and just listened. Gathering information was never a waste of time.

"Hypnosis?" Cassidy asked absentmindedly before turning to the woman in costume. "Whatever it was- it's effective." He held out his hand, suddenly feeling like his manners could be better. "I'm Cassid- I mean... I'm the uh... Scarlet Ghost." With the hero talk, he'd have to master the 'not saying your real name' part as well.
Brushing a fallen strand of hair from his eyes yet again brought the idea of a wig into his mind. It wouldn't be a bad idea.
