This is the first Hallow's Eve for which I will be celebrating. I'm told I must have a costume and attend a party. How am I to choose a costume? It will be difficult, yes?

It's easy! Just dress up like something scary or....funny!

Or something that you really like!

Or maybe something that's the complete opposite of your personality!

Okay, maybe it's not so easy! But it's all for fun!

You are not helpful For fun, yes. What do others wear as costumes? I am confused. I do not think scary would be fun.

Oh! Well, one year I was an octopus, and then a parrot. Then a hitwizard! And then one year I was a vampire, and then one year I was a clown. So you can be anything!

And the scary part comes in because it's supposed to be like...the day all the spirits and stuff walk the earth? So that's scary, right? Except there are spirits that walk around school all the time, so...

I don't really know anymore, really! Just a day to be silly I guess!

The Vampires should not be costumes. You are disrespectful of their people.

Oh--Well right! I wouldn't dress up as a goblin and-- That's true! I shouldn't have done that. Would you think that dressing up like a healer is disrespectful to healers?

Are the healers a race of people? Are the healers oppressed?

No, but I don't figure they'd like people pretending they're them, either. It takes a lot of hard work to become a healer! You are ruining Halloween

Okay, and I mean---I completely agree about Vampires being beings and us not using them as costumes which is why I do not know why we're fighting but what if I wanted to dress up as a famous vampire because of all the heroic and awesome stories behind his name?

Would that be offensive?

Is it customary to make a historical figure costume?

Yeah, sure! There are plenty of Ministers walking around and---I had some mates dress up as Hogwarts professors one year! Boy, they can pull a really mean looking Dumbledore if you ask me!

In that way, I believe a costume of a historically famous Vampire would be amicable.

I have been told many stories about Mr. Dumbledore, but I have never known him.

Excellent! Hey! That means I could make a costume of Gregor the Destroyer! He was the Goblin that helped create (and then ultimately ruined, but that's another story) the first ever goblin colony in Scotland!

Professor Dumbledore is really amazing, really! And I didn't---when I said 'really mean looking' I actually meant--err-- that it was a really good costume! Mean meaning...'good'? Sorry if that was confusing at all, I tend to confuse people, especially if English isn't their first language because then they really don't know what I mean.

Mean as in...the definition of what I'm saying. SHUT UP DIRK

You can be a princess?

Why a princess? I do not understand these costumes.

Why can I speak to Goblins and not humans-

Because you don't get to dress up like a princess every day, right? Don't girls like dressing up in pretty dresses and jewelry and stuff? It's a day to do that, be someone you're not.

Not that you couldn't be a princess! You're certainly pretty enough to be one, but then again there are some goblin princesses that aren't too pretty, so I guess it's not a necessary factor.

I have not had such playtime since I was a young girl. To be an adult pretending is like lying, yes?

How do you know this? Do I know you? Do you know a princess?

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

LYING! YES! That is what Halloween is about! It's the day you get to lie about who you are for fun and no one will get mad at you! It's a day for PRETEND!

Oh, well-Why do I know this- You're always in my department and stuff and my cubicle is right by the door so I just--I can see?

And I do not know a princess! I know how to dress like a princess---I mean! I have three younger sisters, so--they used to dress me up like princesses.
