Haha oh goodness did she really say that? Terrrrrible. I'd have liked to think that she at least put some thought into it.
I think that writing the Extended Essay has left a permanent mark on me - there is no other explanation for my, as you said, "thoughtful and incredibly long assessment". Normally/before IB, I'd have gone straight to sleep after finishing the book, given the hour. This thoroughly terrifies me.
