Grace Landry [32] Contractor
Sister has been doing it for herself for as long as she can remember. With images of Rosy the Riveter in her head from a young age, Grace quickly rejected the idea of college and headed straight into the workforce. She is a feminist at heart, but mainly just likes to boss people around and not let anyone tell her what to do. She had Grayson at 27, the product of a relationship that she didn't think was going anywhere. She decided very quickly to keep the baby and lose the man. It was the best decision she'd ever made. Five years later, she wasn't going to let a little nuclear winter stand in her way. |

Kelly Valincourt [46] Nurse
Kelly has always been all about the perfect life. For awhile, he really had it too. He met his wife in nursing school and a couple years after they were married, they had a beautiful set of triplets. Years passed and things seemed to be going smooth on the outside. But people fall out of love all the time, and behind closed doors, Kelly and his wife were fighting. She wanted a divorce. Kelly wanted marriage counseling, but mostly because he didn't want to admit failure. No one knew. With their family's future up in the air, the world happened to end and the decision never got the chance to be made. Now Kelly lives with the death of his wife knowing that she wouldn't have been his wife for much longer anyway. |

Malachi Valincourt [16]
Being separated from his family was the worst thing that ever happened to Malachi. Sure, the end of civilization as he knew it was pretty bad, but he could have handled that with his family by his side. But at least he had Murielle and she is what keeps him going. All of his fight comes from trying to protect her. Normally mild mannered, Malachi has developed an edge since the kidnapping and he doesn't quite know how to deal with it. But all he knows is that it's helping him to keep them both safe. |

Abe Roth [53] Chemist
Before the blasts hit, Abe had been building a small meth lab in his small rented house. He hadn't actually cooked any up yet, but he had all the supplies. What else was there for a laid off chemist? Abe used to work for a small manufacturing company until they went under and he was let go. When the unemployment checks stopped coming in, he tried to get a job at Mr. Cluck's Chicken Shack, but he was overqualified and too old. Now he's making his way and doing what he can to help the small upstart camp. |

Willard Taylor [26] Secret Farmboy/Singer
No one calls Willard "Willard." His name is Will. That was one of the many measures he took to leave his agrestic childhood behind. He left home as soon as he turned 18, tired of the dirty grind of farm life and small town nowhere. He moved to Seattle to make a life for himself, but things never really took off for him. He was travelling with a band when the nuclear attacks hit and fortunately, he was far enough away from the blasts to survive. But one by one, his traveling companions were overcome by the elements, disease, or worse. |

Cash Thompson [21] Hair Stylist
Cash was the youngest of two boys, growing up in a pretty normal suburban family. At a young age he had an interest in dressing things up and playing house with the neighborhood girls. He did their Barbies' hair and his parents were convinced that he was gay. His brother picked on him for it, but overall he was the protective sort and wouldn't let anyone else give him guff. It turns out, Cash just really liked being creative and helping people look the way they wanted to look. Now that the apocalypse has come, he really just wishes he would have gone camping with his dad a few more times. |

Lorne Lockland [30] Publicist
Like his brother, Ashley, Lorne feels responsible for keeping people safe. He looks up to his brother a great deal, though he thinks the man could stand to loosen up a little bit. Even though Lorne is a diligent, trustworthy worker, he also likes to laugh a lot. He has next to no survival skills, but he's whip smart and knows how to delegate fairly and inspire people to work together. |

Smith Arva [27] Boxer
No one fucks with Smith or his brother. Period. They come from a big family but they were the only two who made it and now all Smith can focus on is protecting Court from harm since he's the only family he's got left. A professional fighter, Smith has found a quick niche in the growing underbelly of the US. Fighting tournaments provide cheap entertainment and gambling for survivors and Smith is just fine with that. He ekes out a living for himself and Court. |

Eugene Fuller [31] Environmental Scientist
Eugene is all about green living--or rather he used to be. Now he's mostly concerned with survival. But he is quick to point out that he has a wealth of knowledge for low-energy sustainable living techniques in his granola-eating past. He was never the preachy sort though and mostly he just spent his time respecting nature and native cultures. Now he's trying to put all of the knowledge to good use. |

Wade McGillis [8] Urchin
Having been bounced around from foster home to foster home for most of his life, Wade didn't have a lot to lose when the blasts came. He's always been good at making the most out of the least possible. A bit of a troublemaker, Wade's only sense of morals comes from what's best for him. He's well suited for life on the road, even at such a young age. |

Marlowe Thompson [33] Cop
Marlowe is a dirty cop. It's entirely possible that his activities before the nuclear events actually led to the successful execution of the attacks. With no sense of loyalty or responsibility, Marlowe is out for himself and himself only. His world hasn't exactly always been safe. With criminal parents, Marlowe really thought he could make a difference when he started out as a cop. But things don't really work out and Marlowe was quickly disenchanted with the corruption he found in the police force. It was easy to fall into that same corruption and forget his childhood dreams of cleaning up the streets. |

Grable Lundy [26] Subway Sandwich Artist
When Grable was 18, he followed his brother to New York. He knew that it would be impossible to live without Harlow close by and he wasn't even going to try. Unfortunately, Grable never had the kind of drive or direction his twin did and ended up working a string of menial jobs. He was far too proud to ask his brother for financial help and lived on his own in a crappy little apartment in the worst neighborhood. But he was happy because he got to see Harlow all the time (when they both weren't working). When the bombs hit, New York was hit the hardest, not only from the blasts but the fallout. When the twins miraculously found each other, it was clear that Grable had suffered some radiation poisoning. Over the course of their first few days back together, Grable was violently ill, unable to move on from the place where they'd holed up for safety. It didn't look good for him, but he pulled through. However, the initial bout of radiation sickness has made him weak and prone to infection. |
