Derek + Scarlett
Drew Dietrich | Ravenclaw | Lucas TillThe New Year's magic never seemed to fade away. Derek and Scarlett continued to have random run-ins (She swears. He swears, too), but after a few months life got distracting again. The quidditch season began and Derek took on more responsibilities in the hitwizard department. It wasn't until Vinny, being the very best friend that he was, forced Derek on a blind-date with a girl he met at some
thing. That thing happened to be a quidditch match, and when Derek spotted Scarlett wearing that very red dress (good thinking, Vinny. Clever) he pretended that he was in fact
not the blind-date she was waiting for. Merlin, did they tear apart that dumb sap that had left her all alone, only drinks could really make up for what a
twit he was for standing her up.
She never worried about getting married. It had not been something she thought about or truly believed in, and it allowed their relationship to progress naturally without the regular pressures society liked to put on young, unmarried folk. Vinny and Gleny were quite bad at dropping subtle hints, but the pair neither denied or supported the idea. They were something nice and good, what more could you want?
Scarlett found out she was pregnant on Christmas morning, but waited until New Year's to tell Derek the news. Mostly out of nerves, partly because there was a
tiny romantic in her. The surprise pregnancy caused a rift for a little bit of time, both terrified of what this meant, would they be able to handle it,
should they, but in the end Drew arrived and was very loved by all.
He has a bit of a temper, which makes exam time in Ravenclaw Tower quite volatile. Scarlett had almost been sent to Ravenclaw, so she was pleased with her son's sorting, but Derek demanded a re-sorting. Did they do such a thing? They
would now! But it became clear that his son's quick wit was quite directly drawn from Derek's own personality, so the sting of now carrying on the Hufflepuff lineage lessened slightly. Slightly. Drew graduated from Hogwarts and obtained many internship offers, but once again he surprised his father and joined the auror squad.
Bloody hell.
