It was really awkward, seeing a girl cry. Terry tried to avoid the common room during exam time because of this very reason; there was always a Ravenclaw ready to burst into tears because they were surely going to fail this upcoming test. So--he was good at avoiding it, but this time, he really couldn't.

Everyone had heard about Katie Bell. It wasn't some Gryffindor secret or a little splash in the gossip pool of Hogwarts. It was all anyone could talk about, and in the midst of the questions, worries, and concerns about Katie, they'd forgotten that someone else had been there, too.

He hadn't intentionally taken the route back to the dorms that would lead him past the Infirmary, but he was starting to believe it was a subconscious thing, telling him to go that way. He and Leanne, they weren't on great terms, and neither were their families, but he'd still grown up with the girl! They'd been to a million events together, and he knew tons of stuff about her! So---he was worried! She was a somewhat, sort of a friend that was suffering!

"Hey," Terry said quietly, stopping by the end of the row of chairs that had been set up outside the infirmary's doors. Leanne looked up from her hunched over position and stared at Terry for a moment before looking back down. "Do you mind if I sit here?"

She stiffened, "You going to blame me for Katie's accident, too?"

Terry frowned; had people really been saying that? Idiots! He sat down immediately and clasped his hands on his life, sighing.

"No, I'll just sit here," he said. Leanne sniffled and kept her eyes down on the ground, but she nodded slightly, and may have inched a bit closer to Terry in the process.
