I DON'T like the fact that the kid now has to deal with Zhao though. Hopefully Yan will continue teaching Kouji self-defense despite being in Zhao's fleet. Like Ty Lee said in your other story, benders often don't learn how to fight in other ways... it'll be nice for Kouji to be yet another exception to that rule. ^_^

Well, Kouji hero-worships Zuko. =D So he's trying to emulate Zuko in every way he can -- ponytail, learning to use a weapon outside of bending, etc. Not to mention it's common sense that he learn to use weapons, since he's an earthbender travelling with firebenders.

True... that would the wisest thing to do, short of not exposing himself to dangerous situations that might cause him to reveal his bending abilities (which we all know won't be an option since he adores Zuko).
