Dmps: */shaking/ and disoriented, looks at the /creature/ right on top of him...and starts trying to struggle to get away!*

Terris: *gently, but firmly holds him still* Easy. I'm not going to hurt you. *he'll shift Deckard's shirt to get a look at the gash* I'm afraid you're going to need stitches to close this up. *he'll press the shirt back into place, and take one of Dmps's hands, pressing it to the shirt* Hold that in place now. *if Dmps will obey, he'll help the boy sit up.*

Dmps: *still shying back, braced n eyeing the creature warily* What happened? *lets the creature help him sit up*

Deckard: You fell into the river and were swept away. Looks like you hit your head. This-... *he has a name, what did he say his name was?* ...ah...Terris...pulled you out and resuscitated you.

PJ: *shakes a fist* You're not gonna make a sudden /grab/ for anyone, are you?

Terris: No. I just want to make sure you're all safe.

GM: *arms crossed* Hell of a way to start our time here.

SM: Mnn. *nods, agreeing*

Deckard: *weighing their options – they don't have any first aid supplies…they don't have /anything/ . . . finally nods* All right. Thank you, Terris.

	Terris: frowns, but can see their hesitation. Saved them only to dump them in the middle of nowhere? Some farmwoman, maybe? Found them, helped them, but couldn't keep them? 	Terris: headtilt You know how to hunt? Find water? Make shelter? Identify plants that can be eaten, used for medicine...or would kill you? Unless you boys can assure me of this I'm afraid I must insist you stay, at least until I can teach you. I can't in good conscience just let you leave without knowing you'll be okay. Terris: *softly* No, I can't, and won't force you to stay here, but neither will I leave you on your own. *at Deckard's words....he sighs* You will find that is not possible. You, Gunmax, and McCrane, being j'har, would be enslaved the moment you were caught by the authorities in town. Shadowmaru, Kage, Duke, Power Joe, you might manage to keep free of the markets, laws do not deny you freedom, but neither will they protect you from anyone who might wish to claim you as a slave, especially since you are children. Dumpson, Drill Boy, you would be the safest from slavery, but would be sent to an orphanage until you were old enough to work. You boys should /not/ go to town, stay here, at least until you know how to fend for yourselves out here.

GM: You've /got/ to be kidding me! What the /hell/ kind of wor-! *realizes what he was about to say ("kind of world did that bitch drop us into!?") and just sits back with a /scowl/*
Deckard: …………………excuse us. Guys. *stands and gestures for the team to follow him as he heads for the mouth of the cave – they need to talk…honestly, it's /long/ overdue*
*Without question, the rest of the group stands to follow, SM pulling Kage up with him and PJ supporting Dmps*

Deckard leads the group far enough back for privacy – with his Amin hearing, they'll still wind up overheard – and settles on the trunk of a fallen tree, Duke standing beside him. The rest of the group settles on the ground around them.*
Deckard: I'm afraid Terris is right. If what he says is true, towns aren't safe for us, and we just don't have the programming or the equipment to take care of ourselves out in the wild. *his gaze shifts to meet each of his teammates' . . . lingering on Kage's – there's more he wants to say, but their survival comes first, and if Kage will have them, will have /him/, then he certainly counts Kage as one of them*
PJ: I can't believe that bitch dropped us on some unknown planet, and in forms that'll get most of us killed or worse!
Duke: She didn't have to give us anything "fair", Power Joe. She never promised to make anything easy for us.
GM: Sure, didn't /try/ either.

Kage: *quietly meets and holds Deckard's gaze* ...I did not agree to this just to die again because I don't know what I'm doing. Terris isnoffering help, I think we should accept...perhaps repay him by working around here for a time. *just...his thoughts. He knows he's not part of the team (yet? He hopes that's a "yet"), and so he's hoping speaking up isn't out of line.*

Kage: *will stay quiet, just leaning into his brother and keeping SM snugged close. He'll gonwith what the group decided... and is glad they agree to do this.*
Terris: *.....who /are/ these children. They're almost more like adults in some ways, and yet so amazingly ignorant of the world....and half of what was said makes no sense. He won't let on that he hears. He'll just put up the washed dishes*

I'd say there's something else we've not had a chance to address yet, that we really need to . . . *yeah, he's focusing on Kage now – glancing at the others as they're addressed* Duke, Gunmax, Drill Boy – I know you've all read the case file on Kagerou-
SM: *straightens a little, but…isn't worried – he and Deckard have talked before, so he thinks he knows what's on the team lead's mind*
